Leave the make and model of your monitor in the comment.Describe your experience with HDR if possible too.

To be honest I'm not sure what it does exactly... when I think of HDR I think of Half-Life 2 Lost Coast.

    I have a crappy BenQ GW2270

    Acer XB270HU, no HDR here.

And honestly, it wouldn't be too high on my to get list for my next screen, since I hardly have the feeling it does a lot for the picture shown. I find HDR unnatural, but that's a very subjective thing there and I'm aware some people really do like it :)

    yeah
my experience with hdr is anecdotal but I'll tell you this
while looking at TVs,I preferred a high quality SDR over a budget HDR by a mile.
high quality HDR's looked absolutely amazing though.
I think the bottom line is,HDR is great, but will only show it's best side on a high quality display.

HDR by definition is that whites can be brighter than regular white. But that doesn't work without local/pixel dimming, so basically HDR with all displays but OLED is just garbage.

HDR is buggy AF with Win10 and the results are not that much better than SDR (lowering gamma and increase brightness do the same thing), games with good HDR support are few and far between. Best game with HDR support is probably CP2077.

I think G9 would be the one montior HDR capable but not comparable to oled.

use it on my UHDTV cause it supports it so mostly used for consoles and maybe few PC game i have that support it when i game on pc which rare these days.

Tv might barrely do 350nit but it does improve picture using HDR ver SDR but sure it no where near what is intend for HDR

My previous experience was with a TCL C70 TV.
And it was bad so I was never using it.
Bought an Aorus FV43U monitor this summer, tried it and never looked back.
    I now use HDR permanently.
With all games they support it but also in desktop(netflix, youtube etc.).
Everything looks better in HDR to my eyes.

BenQ EW3270U, I use HDR to watch vids and in some games. Monitor also supports fake HDR on SDR, but I generally don't use it. The colors are very nice already. Use DCI-P3 color mapping, and set Radeon to Custom Video profile.

When using this monitor on a laptop with a GTX1070, HDR wasn't very good, as it wasn't a true HDR experience, but instead it was just saturated colors. VRR with GSync Compatible was also very problematic, and getting it to work in games was an effort, and not always successful.

I have an LG 27GL850-B. It has support for HDR, but very basic.
So it's pointless to turn it on.

HDR does seem to have saturated color, which to me is + as i saturate my color with normal SDR stuff to begin with, to me HDR only look bad or worse then SDR when everything be come washed out, like what seem to happen on Window HDR implementation?

I can most likey get same effect of HDR with SDR by just change few setttings. some game atlest on Consoles look better with HDR other look worse.

I always use HDR when possible on my HDR 1000 TV. meaning default HDR,HDR+ or AutoHDR. I totally love it, it brings so much detail and lighting. I only hate the fact whenever i take screenshots, its also 10bit, and when i turn HDR off , the image is totally different because im looking at a 10bit image with 8bit.

My LG 43UN700-B has the feature. Well, I tested it, turned it on while switching through all options.
Turns out that it brightens the screen a bit more, highlights the whites. Didn't quite see what was all about, maybe it's a low quality HDR implementation. Or I didn't appreciate it fully.
Will test it further, but for now I have it disabled.

Use it on my OLED and it blows my mind every time, don't use it on my G9 because it looks awful.

I use HDR when games support it or is available via Autohdr.

I went from a Phillips 32 Momentum to an Acer CG437KP to my current QN90A (UK) and in each instance i did not think it could get better.

I use a Q9FN UHD TV and CRG9 UW monitor, both give a great HDR experience.

The CRG9 ideally needs better blacks but because it can go so damn bright (I swear brighter than the reviews say, it matches the 2KNits HDR on the Q9FN easily) its still a fantastic experience 'when set up right'.
I almost gave up using HDR on it because of the greyish black level until I tweaked it more (when playing Cyberpunk), now I love it with HDR.
For a while I played Forza 5 with HDR off because I didnt realise. Once HDR was turned on it confirmed my experience with other games, blinkin' great!
Although I never use it for movies only gaming, because both screens are in central view at the same time, so why not have the bigger screen experience :)
And movies can be a pita on an UW screen, they sometimes display in a smaller window with black bars at the top/bottom. It can be zoomed in, but why should I care when I have a better screen for movies.

The Q9FN TV (2K Nits specced, slightly less in reality) is great for everything HDR, all movies are played on this.
I used to game on it until I got the CRG9, the 32:9 UUW screen experience is so good I havent gone back to 16:9 for gaming.

With either screen HDR always gives the better experience.
