GeForce hotfix display driver version 496.98 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 496.76.

The hotfix addresses the following issues:

    - [YouTube: The YouTube web site randomly displays extreme contrast/gamma while idle or during video playback. [3420164]

    - [Notebook]: Black screen may be observed on some Optimus notebooks with 1440p/165hz panels when in discrete GPU mode [3426730]

    - Games do not launch correctly on GeForce GTX 750 Ti when NVIDIA Image Scaling is enabled

    - [3442778]Using Adaptive Vertical Sync while G-SYNC is enabled may result in random black screen [3437003]

    - [Red Dead Redemption 2/Doom Eternal]: The game crashes with TDR or the system crashes while running the game. [200766423]

When the fix so NIS stops giving you a performance penalty even at native resolution? Even with the sharpening disabled, you lose 5-10% in performance, nice one nvidia lmao.

I swear if any hotfix driver got "Detroit BH" in it i'll ask for a refund on EGS, it's been in tons of geforce drivers list of fixes for more than a year now

These drivers include a fix for YouTube dimming [3420164] so this may be related to that. The background darkening outside the Chrome window while scrolling past video content in Facebook issue appears to be resolved as well. I'm back to using GPU hardware acceleration and the DX11 ANGLE setting again instead of the d3d9 setting that was needed with the last couple of drivers.

Chrome shouldn't black screen on anything, you sure you don't have pcie error notifications in the whea logger?

They would still be more educated than you.

is this fixing the issue with dual monitor setup and going back from sleep/powered off and going into a fullscreen game with gsync ending up having to replugg the connector or disable gsync to stop blackscreen/window blinking. havent bothered with gsync for a couple of years after i was in contact with aoc and nvidia and both sent the blame to the other. monitor in question AG352UCG6 and asus 2080.

    Opinions are not protected medium.

You're the only snowflake for not realising it.

You offered your opinion, I challenged you on it, you called me a snowflake. Mature.

Instead, you could have gone and looked for the requirements to be a software engineer at Nvidia. The first thing on the list is this:
    • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience, MS with 5+ years of experience or Ph.D. with 3 year of experience
So it's not exactly they recruit the "most mediocre people they can find".

    Define mediocre.

That is just one of the requirements. There's many others. This is before you even get past the first step of recruitment progress. Hundreds will fail to make it to the interview process. There you'll have to compete with other top candidates. It's all highly competitive and if you think Nvidia employ mediocre people, you're dumb, it's really as simple as that.

The version in title needs to be corrected to 496.89 from 496.98
