My game was a stuttery mess also. I uninstalled and reinstalled overclocking software and the drivers. Now it's running smooth.

 

Hint:

For completion of fast travel make sure you complete the guanajuato expedition located on the Horizon Street Scene ticket. that will unlock all street scene races and a new house on the left side of the map named Buenas Vistas house wish cost 2 Million dollars , buy the house and make it your permanent house as a perk it will unlock fast travel , voila now you can fast travel anywhere on the map for free. Enjoy it !

 

Played with Dolby Vision last night. Simply awesome. I love hdr, but sometimes devs just make everything brighter and don't focus on specifics. The difference in this game HDR vs dolby vision is very noticeable. Dolby vision is much more realistic and adds to the graphical appearance. It doesn't cover everything with brightness, only what should be. I was a skeptic since I believe you need a non-existent 10-bit tv get the most out of dolby vision, but even at 8-bit it's a big step up from hdr10.

 

If anyone is getting random stutters when free roaming in multiplayer online but not in solo, try turning off "Player designs" in settings, hud and gameplay.

One way to quickly tell if this affects you is to join an online session, make sure there are other players in the session (the more the better).. Drive around slowly in the same spot in a small circle for approx. one minute (this is so you are not loading the map as you are driving around). If you see the game stutter (screen pauses for a fraction of a second) within that minute, disable "player designs" in the settings, and repeat.

 

That house allows you to fast travel to any road, but you still need all the fast travel boards to travel for free.

 

Thanks soo much for this!! This was completely 100% what was causing the hitching, appears everytime it would try to load in a player with some crazy custom paint job it would cause a huge frametime spike. Turning that off and it's silky smooth now!

 

Is this on PC? How can you enable DV? I have a CX 65. I don't really like the "standard" HDR.

 

No, this is on xsx. Unfortunately, PC doesn't have the Dolby option. Are there any monitors available with Dolby Vision? HDR has been out for a while now and all of them seem to maintain the generic 400 nits that really doesn't do much. I ended up hooking up my PC to my TV and noticed a huge difference with 1,000 nits.

 

I have now collected every single car in the game. Go me.

 

Yeah there are plenty of DV monitors, they are TVs.

 

Also disable Drivatar Designs and run the game as administrator. Can the display of cars on stage be disabled after choosing a car to drive/race?

 

I'm pretty happy with these results but apparently I'm a bit CPU limited in my scenario for 1440p.

 

Dolby Vision does add some small details at times but HDR is close or exceeds sometimes.
Dolby Vision works on the TV also. Now I must go check if the PC version for this game has Dolby Vision.

Dolby Vision does appear to look considerably better than HDR in this game. It’s not as small of a difference as you’d think. The PC version does not support DV FYI.

 

I love Dolby Vision on 4K UHD Blu-rays, Netflix and AppleTV/iTunes.
However, the developer could have easily opted for scRGB HDR on PC for improvements over conventional HDR10.

 

To many new games, geez. I wanna get this game though.
