Radeon-ID Community Driver: Hybrid - Release Nebula 23.11.1 WHQL

Yes: I installed 3 drivers, 2 with DDU in safe mode and one with AMD Cleanup. Still got the froze black screen all times. Luckily, hard rebooting works as seems like the driver sucessfully installs, but its still scary af.

Chipset version is 10.1.11.4 vs 10.1.18793.8276 online. I'll try updating but its not even a year old iirc.

 

Are you using a single GPU? I actually used to have that issue when I used multiple GPUs during installation of the drivers and 2nd monitor plugged in, regardless into which GPU,, disconnecting 2nd monitor raised my chances of an install without black screen at the end, and at times drivers were installed just fine even with black screen at the end, this issue appeared on all the drivers after 19.12.1 or 19.12.2 , it's AMD drivers issue, even if you using a single GPU I am pretty sure it's the same thing which I experienced, looks like DDU has caused it to you because it completely wipes drivers instead of an upgrade which you've done all these years, the modded drivers are innocent here

 

I have one GPU with 2 monitors, I'll try putting only one next time I update. Weird thing is this only started happening when I installed these drivers, I was version hopping before (every 2-3 months, for like 2 years) and everything would work, but with these I started having black screen stuck at the end of every install.

 

But you didn't done the DDU when you did version hopping during these 2 years right? Just generic express upgrade in AMD drivers installer right?

Because I do suspect DDU has caused that to you now because it completely wiped everything, which is generally a good thing, but sometimes can be a bad one as well

Yes, the next time you will update the driver - disconnect 2nd monitor & do the express upgrade in AMD setup, without using DDU, and hopefully it will not have any black screen freeze at the end, best of luck.

 

Nope, I've always done the DDU thing. Always the latest verison of DDU too.

Hey @mylipho15, i submit problem with Terascale and GCN combo. Just for fun finally i get my MSI GX60 back and im trying to check performance in Sea of Thieves. I managed to run game on igpu and it works better than i expect, but i tested it in 360p res, to prevent iGPU Bottleneck.

 

Because legacy terascale Dx11 are mainly based for HD 5000/6000 and Terascale APU. There's difference structure in radeon INF on Catalyst 15.7.1 and Crimson 16.2.1 so i need to address them separately. We are working on beta stage 2 for Legacy Dx11 (including dual-graphics gcn) based gpu.

 

There should be a new driver coming next week due to the BF2042 Beta.

 

Yeah, seems that way.
At least, PUBG next update recommends 21.10.1 for the new DX12 render path.

 

I'm very afraid especially for GCN Pre-Polaris owners (also me). When the time has come, we can't go further porting dx12 libraries anymore , current Dx12 & Vulkan Libraries uses WU 27.20.22012.1 which positioned between AMD 21.6.2 and AMD 21.7.1, only OpenGL so far can be ported from latest driver.

Current GCN Porting Status:
- 27.20.1XXXX, main kernel driver
- 27.20.21XXX, working and fully support directx11 and opencl libraries
- 27.20.22XXX, current latest WU 27.20.22012.1 supplement driver that still support dx12 and vulkan libraries GCN GPU

 

So OpenGL is the only component that's current for the GCN driver? All of the other stuff is from the 21.6.2/21.7.1?

 

Half are true, so call it "Hybrid Driver". Since NimeZ 21.7.1, we use WU package for base driver with mixed latest AMD ones, because it has stable build.

So for example, BF2042 requires DX12 as a min spec, if 21.10.1 drops with certain DX12 optimizations for BF2042, us GCN users will not have these optimizations in your modded driver, is that correct?

 

Probably yes, but we still can get updates from WU packages.
I've tested dx12 libraries between 21.7.2 to 21.8.2, many game i played with dx12 mode cannot run because dx12 gpu compatible devices are not found on your system. That's why i worried about. The only hope to keep some libraries up-to-date for GCN (pre-polaris) are from windows update driver.

 

I understand. When was the last time a WU driver package dropped?

OK new problem now my pc will not shut down fans stay on and after 6mins it restarts if turn sam off and do same it bios then roll back PCI driver works fine but can't use sam I have done all the bios chks and anything else forums say but does not work

 

use PCI bus driver from 21.8.2 and should work fine. My RX 580 with SAM enabled.

 

where do i find it and how do i do that ?
