Far Cry 3 is available for free on PC as part of a Ubisoft promotion. If you missed last year's freebie, here's another opportunity to win this open world FPS.... Free to grab: Far Cry 3 for FREE on PC (Ubisoft)
Vaas aside, this is the game which defined the cartoony aesthetic for the rest of the franchise, and i don't like it. The ambient occlusion in Far Cry 3 was all over the place, bleeding in every direction.
Went to claim it and the first thing it does is fire up steam on the claim button, where it seems i already have it with 0 hours playtime from 2017. lol
Far Cry 3 wasn't really about it's graphics but all about it's story and gameplay. As for AO, it can be toned down or disabled completely, the choice is there. Indeed, I still remember it as if I played it yesterday. Everything after 1 isn't really Far Cry though, always found it weird that they kept the name for games so far away from the original.
Just in case anyone tries to go and grab this, they disabled the giveaway right now (https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/news/far-cry-3-giveaway-disabled/000098994)
I was wondering why it would not let me add it and was asking for an activation code. Thanks a bunch Mine is working without issues, although I had to install a bunch of updates and restarted like 3 times I just noticed that there is a message at the bottom of Uplay that says they will restore the connection to a service that got interrupted. But it's working fine.
thank you, I got just got it. Mine is now working fine, no error message at the bottom either. Does it disconnect while playing a game?
Well that is very weird, I just tried closing uplay and reopening, no problem. I even logged out and was able to log in. And there is no error message or disconnect. Could try to re-install and see if this works, yesterday, when I opened it. I had not opened it for at least a month and seems like there was 2 updates.
Yeah, I'd hoped for more of the adventures (or misadventures) of Jack Carver after having a blast with the first game, but there were no more. The least they could have done is remaster FC, I'd gladly pay good money for that!
