Me and my friend are ready. Cant wait we start fighting armies of hell once again. @coc you dont need 3060ti to play this.
yeah i know.. bought it because i felt my good old 1070 is struggling a bit in heavier games and i find myself lowering stuff to achieve fluid 60 frames. i think i bought it a month even less after it's official release date so it's been a while since i upgraded GPU. matched it with a brand new 2TB SSD.. so im good to go in the upcoming years since im not changing my U2414H till 2025 or so. yeah same - im lucky enough to play with 3 more good buddies of mine. already told the wife she can forget my name this weekend.
Well it's not particularly open if you have to pay to play, but yeah, Activision says hello. Have fun everybody, curious to hear of your impressions.
They had to ruin it Blizzard Removes “Core” Diablo II Resurrected TCP/IP Multiplayer Support Despite Promising Otherwise Earlier https://wccftech.com/diablo-ii-resurrected-tcp-ip-removed/
Early Access phase for Open Beta will begin on August 13th for those that will pre-order the game. Open Beta on 20th
It can't be a bad game if you liked the OG D2 because it's the exactly same game, a 1:1 copy of it only with better graphics and some minor QoL changes like auto pickup gold and more stash tabs. The only thing that can make it a fail is if it performs like a pig. But we have the betas to test the performance. Oh, and obvs, Blizzard pulling out all the stops pre-release to make the release day a bit of a shambles, there will be no ladder on release. I don't really mind too much and will just play SP but I know a lot of people are upset by this. Ideally, PlugY supports D2R on release day. Give me that and I'm golden. But I don't think that will happen so I'll just play SP because that will have ladder only runewords enabled, unlike non-ladder MP.
Who actually needs TCP/IP multiplayer these days? Unless you want to dupe items and runes, of course. Back in the day, I can see TCP/IP being a valid feature, but not these days. Not blindly defending Blizzard btw, just saying I don't see the reason to use it unless you want to cheat.
Good point. I don't see the servers being down much though, maybe in the first few weeks they will, to tweak things, but once the game is stable and runs as it should, that shouldn't be an issue.
Oh yeah, and this will too. I remember D3 release like it was yesterday. Getting into the game at midnight was difficult but for me, I got in after 50 minutes of copy paste my details over and over. After the launch day, it was mainly fine for me, with some errors here and there but nothing tragic. D2R will also have some issues at launch, all big online releases do. D3 had 8 million players trying to log in at the same time, I'm not expecting D2R having that many players on release day.
TCP\IP was barley used back in the day.. even on the old, sometimes terrible bnet. i don't see the big issue with the removal. don't forget that your progress on the beta is not saved etc.. so don't bother too much. just enjoy the acts, the classes, the new graphics. D2 res is my only plan for the upcoming days.
It's very simple to use common sense and come to the conclusion that the removal of TCP\IP from the game is entirely about Activision wanting 100% control over every aspect of the players. Also "back in the day"..... yes, it was used a lot, I know this first hand as an undeniable fact.
