You didn't test with 21.7.1 ? Expect another 150-200 points increase with that one. 21.7.2 is slightly worse in timespy

Also, notice the lower RAM usage - system and GPU. If legit, that's pretty nice(and possibly useful for 4GB cards).

 

Do you play 3DMark?!? More points in 3DMark doesn't mean more FPS in the games.

 

Just trying to understand your post. You mean to say that since 3dmark is a synthetic benchmark and not a game that it cannot be a measure of performance, in either direction, for said games?

I mean, at what point are we being pedantic here? Discussing the driver, its downfalls and improvements and interactions with our own testing and software is what this thread is for and it would seem the purpose of your post is deter or discredit that discussion.

I'm on 21.6.1 because whql... and just noticed that in radeon settings it is not logging game fps average, only time played... is this a bug? is the average fps showing in this newer version?

 

Average FPS shows correctly here.

 

21.7.2 should be WHQL & recommended soon

 

it should bro , best driver ever release by AMD driver dev team. I got a nice boost in games too as well as all 3dmark benchmarks wish performance lift was off the charts ... It was about time for some fine wine , incredible but now all amd cards are performing at its best ever. Someone tell those guys at amd driver team they did an amazing job @SpajdrEX

 

AMD skipping v28 and v29 of their driver build, v28 and v29 being WDDM 2.8 and WDDM 2.9, moving to v30 very soon for the public which is WDDM 3.0 what people (dev) saying on Direct X Discord service.

 

AMD isn't skipping anything, Microsoft decided to skip WDDM 2.8/2.9 and release WDDM 3.0 including all planned 2.8/2.9 features

In this version, randomly decides to not apply custom voltage after boot. Wreckfest textures not loading correctly just like it was with UWP version.

 

Now we got to August, 21.8.1 can't come soon enough.

 

There was such an issue long time ago but it was fixed.

Btw, since Crimson 16.12 and later, every AMD driver are certified WHQL by Microsoft, applied to Beta/Optional release. This is (maybe) RTG response to Game Cheat Protection like EAC that refuses to run because Driver isn't WHQL Certified.

 

Yes but is not Full WHQL and it's not widely tested, that's why (if You need full stability) is better to wait for Recommended one
This days we don't need to install driver once in a week .
