Has any of you problems with YT Videos that are 1080+ AND 60fps ?
1080p 60fps (and higher res) YT videos dropping frames on a 6900xt... (VP9 codec)

    Works fine here.

Do you mean you see actual stutter in playback or just that the Stats for nerds shows x frames dropped?

If the latter just ignore it.

    Thanks for the feedback.
Actually both --- stutter and dropped frames.... and If I leave it on auto it begins with e.g. 1440p@60 or 1080@60 and it changes then with time to 720@60 etc...
I think I will just do a clean install.... just to be sure...

Yepp... no changes on the browser side (tested in Opera, Vivaldi (my daily drivers)) and also in Edge. Only upgraded the driver and with 60fps videos I have immediately noticed some stuttering... even switched between 10bpc and 8bpc - no difference.
Will do a clean install today in the late evening just to make sure this is not a conflict because of some leftovers from 21.6.2 and will report back.

I have issues here also with a pleb polaris. HDR and 1080p+ 60fps give me a headache it drops resolution or I should live with stutter until it auto fixes itself. I have no issues with the same video either on android phone or xbox. AMD has issues with Hardware Acceleration it seems at the moment.

UPDATE : Clean-installed the 21.7.1 (AMD uninstall + DDU in Safe Mode) and reinstalled.... seems everything is back to normal. 1080p and higher 60fps videos on YT are fluid again.

Am I doing this correct? if I want to have global fps locked at 60 is this where I do it?

Use frtc and set it to 60fps instead of chill.

Really hope AMD implements per game frame rate limiter like NV.
Having just a global setting means I have to use RTSS alongside.

Not a problem but I always prefer 1st party solutions where possible.

Especially as AMD already has per game overclocking and color profiles for example, both of which are extra useful.
Though they occassionally bug out and make the game specific setting global and what actually happens is the global settings are changed when the game is started and they revert (should) to default after game is closed.

Why? setting it in global with frtc works in every game. I stopped using rtss.

Wouldn't RTSS provide better results, capping the frame rate but also consistent frame timing and improved latency.
FRTC and Chill doesn't seem like have the same capability, FRTC I believe increases latency and Chill works through a min and max I am not sure how it behaves if set to the same for that.

I use SpecialK most of the time though NVIDIA or Rivatuner provide excellent results as well compared to just capping off the maximum or relying on the game FPS limiter and timing issues that can happen, just not entirely sure where AMD places in this comparison.

EDIT: NVIDIA (Plus features like Reflex.) do have the benefit of just setting it to on and that's about it, RTSS and even more for SpecialK require some tweaking and then there's compatibility as well where SpecialK would have a bit of a issue, RTSS being signed would for example work in some of the anti-cheat software solutions like EAC. :)

frtc works great since they brought it back but even before that i didnt had any issues. Honestly i was using rtss but not anymore and i didnt notice any increase in latency or any stuttering.
