Windows 11: The Best Windows Ever for Gaming

Gaming has always been fundamental to Windows.

We build Windows to be a magical place, where everyone can play, connect, and create. That’s why we’re delighted to bring you Windows 11, with superior graphics, amazing speed, and an incredible selection of games.

    Immerse Yourself in Superior Graphics

Games will look better than ever thanks to Auto HDR, a unique capability we’re offering with Windows 11 which automatically adds High Dynamic Range (HDR) enhancements to games built on DirectX 11 or higher that previously only leveraged Standard Dynamic Range (SDR). HDR allows a supported game to render a much wider range of brightness values and colors, giving an extra sense of richness and depth to the image. We introduced this tech in our Xbox Series X|S consoles and got an outstanding response from creators and players. We’re excited to bring this groundbreaking technology to Windows 11.

Buckle Up for Gaming at Amazing Speeds

With a high performance NVMe SSD and the proper drivers, Windows 11 can soon load new games faster than ever thanks to a breakthrough technology called DirectStorage, which we also pioneered as part of the Xbox Velocity Architecture featured in the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

With DirectStorage, which will only be available with Windows 11, games can quickly load assets to the graphics card without bogging down the CPU. This means you’ll get to experience incredibly detailed game worlds rendered at lightning speeds, without long load times. “DirectStorage Optimized” Windows 11 PCs are configured with the hardware and drivers needed to enable this amazing experience.

In addition to supporting the new hardware advances needed for DirectStorage, Windows 11 will continue to have the broadest hardware support in the world.
Everything from our new Xbox Wireless Controllers to mechanical keyboards and gaming mice, to the Xbox Adaptive Controller, to surround-sound headsets, external GPUs and more.
So, you’ll still be able to connect millions of gaming peripherals and accessories to game the way you want.

AMD FSR in Necromunda HR and Avengers

AMD FSR has just been added to Necromunda Hired Gun, a fast-paced first-person shooter.
Although this game is relatively new, it already offers support for NVIDIA DLSS as well as AMD FSR, being one of the first games to do so.

    Note:
Tested Necromunda Hired Gun (with latest patch) with FSR at Ultra Quality
Game looks good, working fast (keeps the 65FPS) almost all the time (All at Epic Q. with Shadows at V.High)
Overall is fine IMhO, game is preety much the same (Visually).
Looking forward to more Games/Mods with FSR... Good Tech :p

AMD RDNA 3 'Radeon RX' GPU Rumors: More Power Efficient Than NVIDIA Ada Lovelace, First Tape Out of MCM Design This Year

Just a few days ago, we got to know that NVIDIA is expecting its first tape out of its next-generation Hopper MCM GPUs soon.
The Hopper GPU is presumably going to be fabricated on TSMC's brand new N5 (5nm) process node whereas AMD will mix-match TSMC's 5nm and 6nm process nodes for their next-generation chiplet and monolithic RDNA 3 GPU dies.

The main difference lies within the production segmentation with NVIDIA Hopper aiming the server segment & AMD RDNA 3 aiming the consumer segment.
The NVIDIA product line to compete with AMD's RDNA 3 GPUs will be Ada Lovelace and those are expected to feature a monolithic design.
This means that AMD with its RDNA 3 GPUs will be the first to offer an MCM graphics architecture to gamers but the actual launch isn't expected until the very end of 2022.

    Navi31は6x10になると確信していますが、どのように構築されているのかわかりません。

    31 MCD Soon!
    32 Maybe 2022Q1?

    — Yuko Yoshida (@KittyYYuko) July 22, 2021

According To KittyYYuko, a very reliable leaker with multiple correct information regarding NVIDIA & AMD GPUs posted in the past, AMD is expected to tape out multiple Navi 3X GPUs based on its RDNA 3 graphics architecture later this year.
As per his latest tweet, AMD will be taping out its first MCD (Multi-Compute Die) GPU, the Navi 31, soon! In addition to Navi 31, AMD is also expected to tape out its Navi 33 GPU in the fourth quarter of 2021 while Navi 32 is expected to tape out by Q1 2022.
Do remember that Navi 31 and Navi 32 are the only two chips that are said to utilized MCD while Navi 33 will feature a traditional monolithic design.

It's going to be hard. They made a lot of money this year, and so they have bankroll for another, and all prepped with bot services. Plus the vendors don't care where they get the money from.

Could those be the specs of AMD Radeon RX 7900XT?

New information on the next-gen flagship Navi 31 GPU.

Guys over at 3DCenter have been busy putting together all the Navi 31 rumors that emerged over the weekend. They gathered information from multiple sources, some of which appear to match each other.

Following Kopite7kimi’s claim that the next-gen flagship GPU called Navi 31 could feature as many as 15360 cores, another person appears to confirm this rumor. According to Bondrewd, a member of Beyond3D forums, there are 30 RDNA Workgroup Processors (WGP) in Navi 31 GPU. This graphics processor is now rumored to be a dual-die (MCM) design, which would suggest 15360 cores, should each cluster contain 256 shadings units (FP32 cores/Stream Processors), a double of what RDNA2 WGP features.

Possibly an interesting change to the design is also the supposed lack of Compute Units. The GPU would be split into workgr

oups instead of workgroups containing compute units. This shouldn’t really change much in terms of design complexity, but it is an interesting change nonetheless.

A discussion is also taking place in regard to Navi 31 memory configuration. While no one has yet shared the memory capacity of the next flagship feature, it is commonly believed that Navi 31 is still to offer a 256-bit bus. What is important though is that the Infinity Cache is to expand from RDNA2’s 128MB to 256MB or even 512MB on RDNA3, depending on who is reporting.

AMD RDNA3 architecture rumors visualized through GPU block diagrams

Olrak delivers new block diagrams visualizing AMD’s upcoming RDNA3 graphics architecture.

The last two weeks have been filled with leaks and rumors on next-gen AMD GPUs, which brought a large list of details and even more data for speculation.
Naturally, nothing that was shared has been confirmed by AMD yet, except maybe for the mixed fabrication node, which has been listed on old roadmaps as ‘advanced node’.

AMD is set to launch three GPUs with RDNA3 generation, although there have been rumors on a fourth GPU as well (Navi 34).
This supposedly entry-level part is not to be expected in 2022, which is why it is being omitted in most leaks, and in this case, in a work from Olrak.

AMD Navi 3X GPU Block Diagram, Source: @Olrak29_

AMD Navi 3X specs are now being repeated by multiple sources, thus one could assume that the rumors are more or less accurate at this point.
When it comes to performance estimations, clock speeds, die sizes, all that is impossible to confirm at this stage of RDNA3 development and will probably remain secret until mid-2022 when AMD engineers will begin leaving hints in Linux kernel updates or official roadmaps.

Olrak made three diagrams for Navi 31, Navi 32, and Navi 33 GPUs. Two of them (31 and 32) are based on multi-chip design whereas the latter is supposedly monolithic. The smallest GPU (Navi 33) is also expected to feature similar specs to the current flagship Navi 21 GPU with its 5120 Stream Processors. However, changes to the size of Infinity Cache and bus width are to be expected. The GPU might offer 128 or 256MB of IF and GDDR6 128-bit memory support. It would succeed Navi 23 GPU.

The Navi 32 is supposedly a mid-range GPU with 10240 Stream Processors, so a double of what Navi 33 is rumored to offer. However, this GPU would feature two graphics dies on a GPU package, possibly doubling maximum theoretical performance as a result. The GPU may offer from 256 up to 384 MB Of Infinity Cache and it would replace Navi 22 in the future as a 192-bit processor for upper mid-range gamers.

Leakers have been sharing rumored Navi 31 specs for a few weeks now. This flagship RDNA3 GPU would offer 15360 Stream Processors through its dual-chiplet design. It is reportedly going to offer a wider memory bus of 256-bit, which is the same width as the current flagship from the RDNA2 series, the Navi 21. Various estimations are provided by the leakers, such as a 2.5 GHz boost clock and 2.5x higher performance than Navi 21, but as mentioned above, it is simply too early to say until this GPU tapes out.

The launch date of Navi 3X GPUs is also uncertain, but leaker such as @greymon55 has been suggesting that a launch of first Navi 3X GPU might be in October next year. This does not mean that all three GPUs will launch at the same time though.
