No, I haven't read the book(s). Link The trailer from Apple looks interesting, but...I just do not know whether Apple is gonna mess this up or not. The winter months are gonna be long and hard this season.
I'm not paying for crap that's woke. I'd have already canceled Netflix long ago if my family didn't use my account. As for Prime Video, that's included with my Amazon Prime account, or I'd have canceled that as well. I can't so much as take a crap these days without some corporate assholes trying to virtue signal to me, frack off.
I already linked the trailer directly to Apple+, no need for you to link the youtube gimped version Mods- I placed it here in this channel by mistake, I did intend this to be in 'the gurus pub' if you have the time, I'd appreciate a move to cooler climates
The website didn't work properly for me so I went and watched the trailer on youtube and thought maybe it would be the same for others so dropped a link here afterwards... it's even the official apple youtube channel xD It looks kinda cool, had never heard of it before.... I guess it being apple is the reason.
I have 2 theories, 1. On the surface the trailer looks like it could be a decent show. 2. However, being aware of some of the agendas being pushed in todays world, this could easily turn out to be a race allegory with plenty of sexual orientation stuff thrown in for good measure. A theme about a childs struggle to be accepted for their ideal sexuality would not be amiss in this scenario. We will have to wait and see but if I had to bet, it would be option 2.
1: Agreed. 2: Apparently, the book is written so far into the future of mankind, that ethnicity no longer applies, as the human race has lost all of its ethnicity, so everyone looks as if they have the same ethnicity. This of course would be impossible to film. There are however, some gender flips...but I do not see that as an issue for anyone considering the overall scope of the story.
I have never read the book, still only 1/2 way through my 1st book (waiting on some new crayons). Let's hope you are right, I am wrong, and we get a great sci-fi series.
Going by the trailers, it does look pretty damn interesting. Time will tell. I'll at least give it a go.
