My work laptop is so not compatible with Windows 11 that the tool doesn't even run! :D When I open it, it just invokes Windows Installer and it's like it's modifying the installation instead.

Try this instead, it's a bit more informative also.

Microsoft will allow some systems to ship without TPM 2.0 enabled, meaning that it will obviously have either a special ISO for those installs or a method to bypass the TPM restriction during installation.

Nice! How is it a third party app can do a better job than Microsoft without even the need of installation?

Been reading a little on several places.
Seems the TPM 2.0 requirement is because of all the ransomware attacks happening the last years,
those have even been happening to some schools and hospitals lately.
Problem > Microsoft can not add TPM 2.0 with a update to Windows 10 since so many without TPM 2.0 is
    running it already.

How could Microsoft solve this issue "fast".
->Use most Windows 10X features since they was not going be used anyhow and call it Windows 11 instead.
->Gateway AutoHDR, DirectStorage and new "features" behind Windows 11.

That way it looks like Microsoft done their part to aid with the problem and would think that solves at least
    some issues right?
Problem > Seems that TPM with and without BitLocker can be used as a ransomware attack.

But I really do not seeing them removing that requirement either way, if they do I would be surprised if
the reason is really because of ransomware attacks.
I most likely will install it but not on everything and make more frequent than before backups of work and
    other important things. :)

Well my 8 core 6900k and Rampage V Black edition 10 is a no go. I'm going to hold out for a DDR5 system before making the jump to 11.

I'm sure there will be builds with TPM not required available but not for the average user.
This will just make more pc's obsolete.
Just what we need, more rubbish to dispose of, and a whole load of people buying pc parts.
Did someone predict prices going down soon ?
On the other hand, maybe it's a good thing. Us pc elites don't want a load of poor people with ancient pc's joining us on the Windows 11 bus, they can ride on thir own "poverty bus".

Also, am I misunderstanding things, or will Windows 11 only install with a live internet connection.

I mean, ten years is not a short life, but for sure it's not the "last version of Windows". This was stupid to say then. On the other hand, that Windows 7 license you had from 15 years ago now can carry you up to Windows 11, so it's not as if they're exactly cash cowing this.
All AMD CPUs have an fTPM setting in the BIOS as part of the AGESA menu. You should just enable it, alongside Secure Boot.

Ah, the bullshit backtracking begins. I really wish Microsoft had more technical spine for decisions like these.

I believe initially, MS posted requirements that grouped DX12 Ultimate together with DirectStorage. Right now, this is not the case:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/windows-11-requirements

"DirectStorage: requires an NVMe SSD to store and run games that use the Standard NVM Express Controller driver and a DirectX12 GPU with Shader Model 6.0 support."

So it looks like it's Maxwell 2 and newer.

Microsoft surpassed themselves for the first time for the shake of geeks and weak persons. TPM stands for True Penis Masturbation. I'm sure the day Windows 10 goes EOL they will give cyber sex machine or at best an AI sex doll as a gift. Beware your genetical integrity. Times are calling the end.
