Good that your issue was resolved. Spending so much money and then having to deal with so many issues can be a lot. Having said that while the statement Not a single problem, not a single stutter, smooth as butter is a bit of hyperbole, taking it into context it, applies to my RX 6900 XT as well.
I was on nvidia for about 10 years, zero problems. Always worknig v-sync, perfect working hw g-sync, no stutters at all. Bought 6900xt only cuz mining situation and what works flawless on nvidia, not working on amd or working bad. Plus dlss and ray tracing is much better and my new 3080ti was even cheaper then 6900xt lol))
I remember having AMD's HD 6850s in crossfire with zero problems for the games that I played. While it is true that AMD software was generally bad compare to Nvidia I wouldn't say that they are without fault. Even the latest RTX 3080s (some or most?) had black screen issues on launch which were only fixed by Nvidia after a driver release. BTW, If you can get 3080ti vs 6900XT for the same price, 3080ti is the card to go for as long as you don't mind weaker raster performance in 1440p and lower.
