Well, it is a 2022 game and they probably started development well before all this nonsense we're having to deal with. Perhaps things will get back to normal by the time it's out. I don't trust that release date one bit.

If video card prices aren't back down to normal by the time this releases I will be attempting to play this with lower than minimum spec video card.... haha...

    And if it can't, refund~

150gb... wish PC got some level on codensing, (well more wish developers made use of it), keep seeing games on ps5 shrink in size due to compression of the new tech, and PC we are still getting bloated games

I've developed a habit of uninstalling games I haven't played in over a year. Saves a lot of space. The ones I might actually return to I just offload to a HDD.

150 Gb? If I'm not mistaken, this is about twice what Death Stranding required, and that was an enormous sandbox to bounce around in. Perhaps this is what should be expected when transitioning from X-Ray to the Unreal engine.

Using Compactor GUI with a good CPU is kind of a must for now. I must have saved close to 300GB amongst my drives in total by using LZX. Microsoft should have a global switch for it.

Looks like I may have to tolerate slower load time as a game requiring that amount of storage space would go to my 6TB WD HDD, definitely not into one of my SSDs. That is on the premise I get the game, which I'm rather 'iffy' on.

Well it was to be expected! 6GB card is becoming a minimum for gaming and surpassing the 4GB one. Both I think that people that play in FullHD would still be able to play this game decently on a 4GB card like a 1650 Super with a high framerate and decent details. Both I think that this requirements are more suited for 1440p then 1080p

6gb vram minimum should become a norm soon.

Well I have 6TB of SSD space, so I am good.
16GB of vram, and upgrading to 32GB. Feels good. :)

I have such bad video game ADD that I have tons of games installed however my top played games (both forzas and MS flight sim) are over 100 GB each so it's not surprising. Looking forward to seeing this game being a fan of the originals.

Recommended specs actually shows how powerful Xbox Series X is. It is crazy that 1060 is at minimum requirements... (i am on 1060 6gb) And my only option is XsX now with insane current GPU prices.

    Not any more:)

150GB its i guess normal, the rest of the req seems exaggerated, even more if they are using the UE
So it might be a case of the terrible "consolitis" syndrome , aka, port.

Are there any downsides to this? Like do the files have to be uncompressed before they can run? Seems fishy to me to have a game be say 100GB for you use some compression tool to make it into a 50GB file size. How is that file supposed to open, it has to be decompressed right????

Decompression is generally faster, it all depends on the method used.

I personally will have to wait for a repack or something, generally you can download separate language packs and that will shrink the game size immensely (who needs to download 10 languages when you just want English?)

it uses chunk decompression in memory instead of whole file decompression, though things like the GW2.dat will be decompressed entirely before play.
