I just used the levels filter in ReShade and set them to 10 for black and 235 for white. Keep the in-game gamma in the middle. Changing the levels like that made a HUGE difference.

The standard video black level of 16 clips too much.

I started the enhanced from a previous save point so happy about that,
strange thing my corsair rgb keyboard switched from its usual rainbow static profile automatically when the game loaded up and the keys kinda matched same color as colors on screen wth?
got it maxed with quality dlss, looks pretty damn epic.
btw when i exited game keyboard returned to normal?

I think it's called iCue intergration.

Out of interest does setting full range 0 - 255 again look worse?

Don't have Reshade downloaded atm so asking before trying myself.

What actually does VRS do? I can't seem to find anything about it, and enabling / disabling it doesn't seem to do a whole lot.

Variable rate shading allows to shade groups of pixels at a time. Instead of just one pixel.
So if we have a group of 2x2 pixels that are similar or equal, we can use just one calculation to shade 4 at a time.

If you look carefully ar smoke or fire in this game, you can see the lower resolution.
It's not the best use of the tech.
Other games tend to use VRS on dark areas, where we can't tell the diference.

Yeah, 0-255 looks bad like there is no filter running. When you configure ReShade, make sure you select the levels filter. If you turn it on, it defaults to 16 to 235 (standard video levels), but that clips the blacks too much. I found that using the custom level of 10 to 235 looks best.

HOWEVER, 4A just released a command line argument. Use -deependark for the launch option. I stopped using the ReShade levels filter and just use the deependark command line argument with a minor gamma adjustment from the in-game menu.

I would say use either solution.

Also, the DX12 path of the original Metro Exodus release had a decent performance penalty with Windows 10 hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling on. If you have that on, maybe turn it off for the EE since it's only DX12.

Can someone upload nvngx_dlss.dll somewhere, i've deleted it while tinkering with DLSS and for some reason Steam doesn't seem to care?
Can't be arsed to redownload entire game, i was just about done with it either way.

You have got to be blind to not see the enhanced edition is light years ahead of previous in terms of IQ, it's a delight to the eyes and plays great, very polished, props to devs for making it free.

    Thanks.

AMD drivers don't even support HAGS yet so it's off (and had it off with NV too).

I occasionally look for a way (a user mod) to lower the weapon all the way off screen but no luck. It would give a complete unobstructed first person view. At least you can look up a little to get that as the weapon or hand held device will drop out of view.

I tried using DLSS 2.2 on Metro Exodus EE.
But there was almost no difference.
In trems of image clarity, it was the same.
But there was a bit less artifacts in objects in movement.

Ok. After trying Chernobylite and being less than impressed... I decided to rebuy Metro Exodus on Steam. Gotta say, I`m pretty impressed with the PC Enhanced Ed.. Didn`t think it would add much to the PC version. Pleasantly surprised though. I played the initial 1st PC release version bout 3 1/2 times through. But this Enhanced Ed. s visuals make it feel like it`s almost a new game. Really hoping the DLCs are as well Enhanced.

I have a problem with Gpu usage on Metro Exodus Enhancet Edition .My gpu usage is like 40-55% during Taiga level + clock cpu is fluctuating like never before. And after intro in Sam story i have 55% gpu usage. Something get screwed.

Few days ago i get normal gpu usage like 90-99%. No other programs in background. 50-60%. Before was 95%.
    I am on 1440P , Ultra,DLSS QUALITY,rest maxed,Raytracing Raytraced.

I checked : Control, battlefield 5,quake 2 rtx and usage is 97%. Only in Metro Exodus Enhacement it happened today. Everywhere in Metro fps is low and gpu usage is 50-60%. I reenabled settings ,restarted pc, nothing helped. Now i have 50fps with gpu usage 55%. Before was 100fps with 98%.

    I restarted pc,installed new nvidia driver,the same.

Someone mentioned that they lost performance with a recent windows update... I'll see if I can find the post again on reddit.

Here it is, I wonder if this is related to what you are seeing?
