PCI Express 4.0 and sequential reads of 3600MB per second? What am I missing here? How is this good?

Like when shops used to install the newest version of Windows on their old laptops gathering dust in the warehouse and increase the price.

You must understand I have a WD 750 Black 2TB, pcie 3.0. I know irony when I see it, as well as avarice. Add to that the 750 I have is a 720 with new firmware, equivalent of slapping a Sunday go-to-meeting dress on it.
