Good to see new headsets, although I don't think the Vive Pro 2 will be very exciting for most current VR users. I think even if I didn't already have an Index, I'd still choose an Index over the new Vive. Resolution at the expense of field of view isn't good and they still didn't match the Index in terms of sound quality. The sound quality of the Index can't be overstated. It literally sounds like you're there.

Actually, resolution matter a ton for sim and flight sims. Maybe for other apps like VR Chat or ?. It's always a trade off.

That resolution is super high. It's going to lag.

The Vive Pro 2 is stated as having a 120 degree fov, where as the Index is 110?
Also as no one has tested the Pro 2 yet as far as I can see so how do you know sound quality is worse than the Index?

I wouldn't bet on the FOV being 120 horizontal. Nowhere anywhere does it make that claim. For true VR immersion, a wide FOV is everything. You can buy a Pimax 8k Plus for about the same price, and get a 200 degree FOV HMD.
