I bought an ASUS GA401IV-BR9N6 laptop and I realized a few days later it'd been upgraded by the OEM for the GA401QM-211.ZG14. So I bought that one too. Any known good method for benchmarking laptops so I can get a good comparison out of the two? Unless you have a really great alternative better than the GA401QM-211.ZG14 please stick to the topic I'm trying to compare the two so as to see if there's such a difference between the two. Considering sticking one of these into it "ASX8100NP-4TT-C" EDIT: I'm thinking of returning this GA401QM-211.ZG14 now (3/24/12 10:24 MST)...
Run 3dmark on them both should be pretty clear cut. Maybe cinebench if you really wanna see the differences in the cpu on single/multi-core tasks. The GA401QM-211.ZG14 does have a better refresh rate, 144hz instead of 120hz. Couldn't find what NVME drives are in both of them but I did just a quick google search so crystaldiskmark on both of them but I guess you're switching storage anyway.
Hey, thanks, I really appreciate it (I'm not schooled on the test methodology) for laptops far as benchmarking but I know those exact programs so much appreciated! EDIT: N yeah I had the NVME lying around already being unused (the 4TB one) I can't find the controller used in it for the life of me... Update: Now that the more I think about it these may turn out better alternatives - OMEN Laptop - 15t-ek100 Product #: 28N35AV_1 $1439.99 $1379.99 Primary Specs Base OMEN 15 Laptop PC Operating system Windows 10 Home 64 Processor and graphics Intel® Core™ i7-10870H (2.2 GHz, up to 5.0 GHz, 16 MB L3 cache, 8 cores) + NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 (6 GB) Memory 16 GB DDR4-2933 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB) Display 15.6" diagonal FHD, 144 Hz, IPS, anti-glare, micro-edge, WLED-backlit, 300 nits (1920 x 1080) Storage 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD Additional Specs Productivity software No Additional Office Software McAfee LiveSafe™ security software Security Software Trial Primary battery 6-cell, 70.9 Wh Li-ion polymer External optical drive No DVD or CD Drive Keyboard Full-size, island-style, 1-zone dragon red backlit, shadow black keyboard and 26-Key Rollover Personalization HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphones Networking Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX 201 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5 combo (Supporting Gigabit file transfer speeds) or this? Their gaming performance is pretty similar - about 5% up or down so you can concentrate on other specs.
Do you or anyone here know if the rtx 2080 super max-q is better than the rtx 3070 max-q or the other way around?
As rtx 2080 super max-q equals about rtx 3060 it will lose to 3070. But it's quite hard to get information about 3.xxx models TDP - there can be a wide variation as max-q denomination isn't used any more.
ok so that answers that; 2080 super max out... Pretty certain of going with this. OMEN Laptop - 15t-ek100 Product #: 28N35AV_1 $1999.99 OMEN 15 Laptop PC Intel Core i7-10870H NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 3070 w/Max-Q Memory 32 GB DDR4-2933 Thinking about just using a laptop now instead of a desktop... I'm interested in the RZ09-0367CED3-R3U1 - $2899.99
Didn't go Razer. Gave the OMEN a shot and glad I did. It works really well, I'm really surprised with how well HP did. So I'm using this now as a gaming desktop replacement after parting out my entire gaming rig. OMEN Laptop 15-ek1013dx Has two NVME bays in it Two modular DIMM bays two Swapped the two 8GBs for two 16GBs Added a 4TB NVMe to the additional NVMe M.2 The thing is nuts...
Final conclusion, thoughts: after testing the RZ09-0369BEA2-R3U1 (and upgrading it to 32GB / 8TB of RAID (x2 NVMe) - plus repasting it with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. All I can say is, the current generation 2021 Razer Blade RTX 3xxx laptops are an absolute failure. They are loud, hot (as in will hurt to touch), and are heavy to carry around. That's the base model mind you. Not that it should get any worse or better moving up. It seems surprising but that HP is producing the best one at present for a variety of reasons (excluding the Ryzen variant, I'd go Intel) they've also just introduced a QHD Gsync panel if ordered from their website. It is quiet, cool to the touch, the fans aren't annoying to be around when they operate (bigger mm) nor is there this unusual system lag I noticed on the Razer - time to time the Razer will actually "freeze" for a few half seconds or so between commands as if something is hindering it. I am not interested in investigating what after dropping a few grand. I'm just dropping it off at my local UPS asap and saying "sayonara"
The last Intel laptop I had was an I7, Nvidia onboard. I had loads of issues with the GPU getting too hot and burning out. While still under warranty I had it repaired 3 times.
