They had one in BF5, which no one played. I'd guess and say the reason was because of the time period;
Jumping on the Warzone bandwagon then? I won't bother with the free version. No interest in it at all. Very boring to play.
If they separate the battle royal from the rest of the game it might actually help. I might check that out as well, I honestly liked Firestorm, although it was ruined by visibility nerfs. But honestly, I won't touch a full price game from Dice until we know about map design, netcode (still the same old, same old?), weapon and vehicle balance, how many cheaters etc. Nothing that you'd know pre ordering, or early on after release.
From the outside it seems DICE and EA R&D SEED have been leaking talent for years. I'm far from having any hope nor excitement for the next installment in the franchise.
It has been a while since Battlefield was really great. BF1 was ok. But BFV was a complete failure. I don't have much hope that Dice and EA will be able to make a great BF again.
Until they stop trying to copy others and go back to focusing on what Battlefield is all about they are just going to be stuck creating things at the level of BFV and Hardline.
I still do enjoy BFV, but yes totally not to the level of BC2, BF3. I do hope they've learned their lesson, but as a BF fan I know I will end up getting this regardless. I've had and still do have my fun with BFV and BF1, you cannot beat the cinematic fights that occur. Just too much fun and visual enjoyment. Please don't mess this up EA/DICE.
I've just started the single player again with everything on max and it is a pretty nice experience, especially tirailleur
Other rumours talk about there be no single player campaign this this around. If correct I'd be quite happy.
So unnecessary. An overt return to a style like BF2 or BFBC2 in an updated engine would make me interested. Other than that, I'm not sure what would.
I really hope they add proper community server support this time. It is the only thing that makes older games playable. There was a period of time in BF1 when 3/4 of operation servers had blatant cheaters and pretty much always 50% of the players had 200+ ping in European servers. Even seen 75%+ few times. Worst part about these cheaters are that there are bunch of 3 years old videos of someone spectating them but after all this time they still haven't been banned.
BF has always had issues with aimboters. Almost all of the time it's just blatantly obvious, as the bot just kills everything and has no other option.
CoD:Modern Warfare has put the bar way higher than anything i've experienced with the Battlefield franchise to date. Curious to see if they can challenge it.
