I think it will be quite some time until DDR5 passes top tier DDR4 B-die for gaming ... (also price wise) . It is not bad time to invest in solid 32 gb of b-die , it will last for very very long.

So 10/30% performance improvements, 0,15 V less voltage.. + bad double latency, it not seems as big improvement. I expected something better.

Nice, but yeah at CL 40 is way too high. More than double current mediocre kits. I expect this to drop to CL30 pretty quickly though.

It always takes a year or two for next gen DDR to leapfrog its predecessor. Nothing new here, it seems.

First gen DDR3 wasn't too impressive either but the revised versions worked out pretty well, would assume something similar happened with the earliest DDR4 modules and now again with DDR5 possibly also the hardware and CPU support but after the first year and initial modules it'll probably start showing what it can do. :)

Especially once the higher spec speeds start being supported properly overcoming the latency drawback and timings.
(Might be similar to the prior gens too where voltage was used to push the chips pretty hard initially and then the cost as well.)

Infinity Fabric at 2000 or higher for AMD so DDR4000 rates at least, unsure about Intel both their upcoming CPU's and memory compatibility XMP specs and all that and how high AMD's IF will scale for AM5 but pushing into even higher speeds would be really fun to see performance results of if it can be supported.

High enough speeds and 1/2 rates could also work out but latency and other delays might be a hindrance.

CPU is only 800 MHz. Surely other systems related to memory is downclocked. I severely doubt the RAM is over 110 ns. L3 is over 60ns, so this adds on top of memory latency

6400 CL40 is less latency than 2133 CL15. We're talking jedec specs. Overclocking "XMP" kits will have lower latency figures

+1 , I always wait 2 years or 3 to upgrade when a new DDR comes out.
actually my DDR4 3800 c14 on my main rig (and even my 3600c16 on second rig) outperforms these first score of DDR5.

There are no JEDEC 3600C16 or 3800C14. There are 3200C20 to 3200C24.

This will allow igpu's to become little powerhouses what most excites me anymore with the sad state of pc gaming atm APU's are mostly immune to all the bs.

    That's not JEDEC, that's XMP.

They used DDR-4 3200 CAS 22 32GB DIMMs for comparison? That should be very easy to beat, you can get 32GB 3200 MHz DDR4 DIMMs with CAS 16 now.
