This is why we always wait for Hilbert to do his thing. No offence, but I don't trust any of you, and Ian @ Anandtech, for all his rep as a tech journalist, probably wasn't the best choice to review this CPU.

Only 2 stores here got the 5600X in stock, 5800X is like everywhere, the one I want, 5900X is not in stock anywhere, I did order one since they get them in stock mid april.

"Two things can be noted, it's not as fast as expected"
    Unexpected.

"and the second, Power consumption and temperatures are going to be a challenge."

    Unexpected. :)

Anyway, waiting for your reviews, HH, but this release to prove Intel is the best gaming CPU just to sacrifice core count was
    1. dumb.
    2. a lie.

    Shame on Intel.

Ask Intel. They were claiming 11000 series will be faster than Zen 3.

I think he was only being ironic.

Standard MOC uses AVX2. That's why it runs better on Zen2 than Zen1(+).
Agree. That's why inet sites running benchmarks with OC CPUs with locked clock will show big benefit while end user sees nothing great.
And it is great marketing when AMD's chips lag behind With AVX-512.

While I know only about AVX2 games, I can see how AVX-512 can be used for marketing purposes.

...You do realize that the R5 5600X and R7 5800X are currently widely available at MSRP, right??? It's only the dual-CCD Ryzen 9 SKU's that are hard to find/over-priced atm.

Unless the Zen 3 R5's & R7's suddenly disappear from shelves at MSRP again, Rocket Lake is COMPLETELY DOA.

Even if it is slower than ryzen 5xxx needs just the right price to be a good deal atm 10600 10400 and 10700 are great deals really.

It's better than here in Romania, where the cheapest I could find is 1025EU. But, again, I could buy it now, just like other RTX 3000 cards. AMD cards are harder to find. The cheapest 6800 XT is... 1700EU.
But... I could buy it immediately.

What is that RED CRANE in the video?! Cool office or workspot though.

I just checked for 5600/5800X and yes it is available. It is local boxed for some reason, not from the usual made in XXX.

Still about 100-150 USD over RRP so a big nope....

Funny thing is the KF CPUs are LOWER costs than RRP here!!!

I don't want to complain too much, but it irks me that stock market shares seem to talk louder than facts today. I'm pleasantly surprised that this news discussion topic here is not bloated with Intel bashing, but actually has some valid points and avoids fanboyism.
I'm afraid that today when more and more people own stocks, customers are trying to be manipulated by bashing or praising whatever company online. While this is spreading, civil discussion with actual valid points, interesting takes and fresh perspectives get more and more refreshing to read inside the noise that surrounds us.

People drew too quick conclusions from the Anandtech's test. Problems are the slow memory (CL22 according to Wccftech) and beta BIOS, which together can really hamper performance. I'm not willing to believe Rocket Lake performs as bad as in the article, but on the opposite, I believe the article is deliberately done as it is to make Intel look bad. Since I don't want to believe people are stupid so they couldn't create proper benchmarks, I rather believe this is false journalism - I cannot explain the bad results otherwise.

I'm totally not expecting Rocket Lake to do miracles, but it would be very surprising to have even marginally worse gaming performance than before when Intel clearly has had a strong focus on gaming.
Let the final reviews tell the truth and maybe then Anandtech's article can be deemed correct if Rocket Lake truly is a failure, but for now, I'm expecting better. Also I doubt Intel would refrain reviews so long if they are not preparing proper microcode for the release.

I don't think the cpu has a fully tune bios yet.
