wait and see, i guess

 

Ok not sure if its driver related but i was afk for 4 hours came back to the pc started ms edge pressed on favorites my whole pc locked-up on mouse movement and keybord had to hard reset it.
When i check event log files i see no strange things.

Screen flickering is still there if i move vensters in size on ms edge when i disable hardware acceration on ms edge the flickering is gone. Its strange because when i watch a video on ms edge there is no screen flickering on that current window venster. But when i close it and open a new venster the flickering is back again when moving the venster, or making it bigger in size or smaller.

If i get this bs hardfreeze again i disable hw acceleration in ms edge hopefully that fix the problem, i never had a windows hard freeze before to tell u the truth.
Also sometimes screen flickering appears on other things aswell like event viewer or other vensters not all the time but its very rng sometimes its there and sometimes its not. While on edge its always there with hw accel on. HAGS is off by default for me in windows 10.

 

did you uninstall the windows update?

If u mean when installing nvidia driver i always use ddu in safemode then reboot and i disable windows update when installing new ones.

Can u share me this update wich might do this behavior cause if this is true i unistall them both.

Wait wait wait... what's this about HAGS causing issues? I've had it on since it was released.

 

Yeah me as well. both on my 2080ti and 3080 - never had any issues with it.

 

HAGS on 461 branch restarts my system on Vulkan games and causes videoplayer which use nvdec for hw acceleration to stutter and crash too. 465.42 fixes HAGS issue but screen flickers a lot on low end of screen refresh rate when using gsync. On 465.51 low screen refresh rate does not flicker anymore but HAGS again has issues by crashing vulkan games but at least not the whole system. So now I am back to 461.51 hotfix with HAGS turned off.

 

By default hags is off in windows 10 better keep it that way for now

 

Not sure if it's this driver or the last Windows Cumulative update, but now I get random loooong (30-60 seconds) total freeze ups. Nothing crashes or errors, then resumes normally.

Edit: Rolled back the Windows updates and nvidia driver, still freezing. Probably something else like my wireless network card (also added recently).

TBH had these running since release and no issues on a 1080 ti. Latency seems normal, no flickering, games I'm playing are running smoothly. Wish they'd issue fixes for a couple of older games though, Sunset Overdrive with its DoF green flicker issue (works fine on an older driver) and Detroit Become Human. Although Detroit plays smoothly, it does crash for me with this driver still, whereas, on an older driver, I have just played from beginning to end with no issues whatsoever.

 

This HF driver brokes 2D and 3D clocks ;/ rolled back to 461.40 and everything is fine

Yes, 465 wddm 2.7 I believe.

Cobalt driver will be incremented to 470 in the next wsl driver.

 

Hopefully they fix the issue with the nvidia fps limiter not working properly with some games.
