This Driver dont have PhysX.

 

why does it need it?

 

You dont know for what is PhysX? The most Games need it.

 

1> most games don't need it
2> uninstalling the nvidia driver typically doesn't remove physx
3> PhysX already has standalone binaries for the general release and legacy packages.

It does have it atleast for me

 

Nvidia Control panel still shows DX feature level 12_1 on RTX 3060 Ti

 

same for me, its been like that in all preview drivers for me atleast.

 

That's such a drastic difference in performance between the two on the same system (assuming both running the same version of 3D Mark) that I suspect it's calculating mesh shaders differently between these two drivers. Do you notice a visual difference between the two? Is it possible they upped the quality of mesh shading from one driver to the next.

 

i couldn't make out much but i think the IQ is better in new drivers hence the loss of performance, i should have recorded the video before and after, if i get time ill try to install older drivers for comparison.

 

12_2 isn't finalized yet.
neither is SM 6.6

does anyone here have dirt 5 to test variable rate shading performance, if so try to test and post some results for us.

 

Yes of course, none of these are finalised yet. Both the Windows version and the nVidia drivers being tested here are essentially alpha/beta stages and are being optimised regularly.

 

These black screen, or prevent 'Microsoft Flight Sim 2020' from loading, like the 465.42's did. MSFS always starts loading with a black screen, but with these it goes no further. The only way out, is to 'end task' in the Task Manager.

I knows these are not meant for general use, but I guess any findings like this may be useful as this branch progresses.

 

Clear. But Dxdiag shows 12_2 already.
