AMD Chipset Drivers [Main Thread]

No BSODs after change, yup it's over a month now

File was signed January 27th so a bit newer than the November 26th version linked to before but the changes are quoted above also for the actual device updates.

Ah and the general release notes too for these.

 

I'm a little confused by this, perhaps someone can fill me in..

The other day asus released a new chipset driver for my motherboard model which is chipset v2.11.26.106, but amd didn't release this version on the amd website it has been v2.10.13.408 until the new one Jonas is highlighting today.

Is the chipset asus released asus specific?

 

No. It is about as specific to Asus as the AMD and Nvidia display drivers, which is not at all.

 

v20.11.26.106 are not Asus specific drivers. I've grabbed those 2.11.26.106 on December 10, 2020 from DriverOff, installed on more than 15 Ryzen/Athlon Gold based desktops (motherboards from Biostar, Asus...) and laptops (HP, Lenovo...) so far and they're working just fine.

 

AMD_Chipset_Software_2.13.27.501 -> So far NP
Last good for Hero VI + 3700X was AMD_Chipset_Software_2.07.14.327

 

I can't seem to get this one to install either, looking at the log error seems to be:

Error 1308.Source file not found: C:\Users\specc\AppData\Roaming\AMD\Chipset_Driver_Installer\AMD_Chipset_Drivers\{F26CE8F7-74F9-412E-9E9B-1E5EB22AD78E}\IODriver\PSP\PSP Driver\Install_PSPPlugin.dll.  Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Anyone got any ideas? Last two have failed to install, although I can't remember if last one was same error.

Yeah, one idea is, why is in that path?
Normally the driver extracts to C:\AMD

 

They always go in there; you're thinking of where the exe you extract goes to which is the C\AMD one - if you ran the exe in there it's copies files into your roaming dir, you'll have one too I imagine.

For some reason mine doesn't seem to be extracting that dll tho - I even tried nuking both directories but that did nothing either.

I thought your error was when installing.
I don't have the file there either. But, also, the PSP driver is installed.

Odd that I get an error there then. I don't even know if that's why it fails, but it deffo shows as an error in the log.

thats a normal path for install plugins(on amd), its trying to invoke the previously installed driver coinstaller

have to uninstall the existing driver or copy the same dll from the new driver into that location.

 

Well, go figure.

Installer still failing but when I check driver versions in device manager they're all the most up to date ones.

Guess I'll leave it then lol

Not a single BSOD so far
Stable release for CH6 + 3700X

 

I get sometimes 1 or 2 BSODs per day

just taking it as a quirk of the tech these days LOL

 

That's called not bothering to investigate and fix your system instability, but feel free to get mad at me for pointing out the obvious.

 

You should investigate the bsod. Those are the signs something is unstable in your system.
