turn down your screen brightness as per the settings on tftcentral.

Wouldn't this be independent of the driver used, though?

I did try another set of monitor- and PSU-cables (luckily I have two sets) and a different PSU. No change in the behavior. 461.40 is unstable after the monitor went to sleep, oddly enough the 461.40 drivers are completely stable before the monitor goes to sleep or when I reboot after the monitor woke from sleep. No such problems with 461.33 drivers at all, though. It's very curious.

submit feedback if you haven't and i'll see if i can find any other instances on the webz and forward them right on to Manuel

Have you got monitoring software running? apparently this causes issues with HMD's (stuttering) but i'm just wondering if the hmd isn't more a factor than the screen going to sleep itself.

Looks like AMD is also getting a memory management BSOD on this headset.

    https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/hp-reverb-g2-vr-headset-bad-news-for-amd-motherboard-users-error-code-1-8/338937/14

I doubt its the same issue though.

Hotfix driver is coming in the interim to the next major driver, apparently with a proper fix for the wow flickering.

Looks like some deep work is being done on the driver's monitoring api's to prevent them causing stutters (that are most likely to be seen under Steam VR), i doubt that'll be ready for any hotfixes.

"The fix will also improve the experience when GPU monitoring utilities are running in the background but it will not be a complete fix. We need a little bit more time to complete the work so that fix will not make it in time for the next driver." - ManuelG

I initially didnt try for that reason but I gave it a go and had no problems, I just made sure devices boot from UEFI first in the CSM options.

Disconnecting the headset didn't help either.

However, I enabled the OverlayTestMode 5 fix people are talking about in this thread and the crashes after sleep are gone with the 460.61 drivers now.

It doesn't seem to make much sense to me, but when I get rid of that registry key, it starts happening again.

I'll do so me more testing to see if anything else affects the behavior before I file a bug report.

Twice this weekend, I had the tv not want to wake up from sleep (first time since installing 461.40; the 460.x drivers did it all the time). I can confirm that ctrl+shift+win+B was able to get video working. Also had 1 time where video came back up but no hdmi audio. Ctrl+shift+win+B also worked to get sound back.

I made the overlay thing into an easy reg file

    "Add" turns on the workaround
"Remove" returns the registry to what it was before

    Give it a try

With 461.33 and 461.40, Watch Dogs Legion is causing some issues (event 4101 driver not responding and crash-to-desktop with error code D3DDRED2)

I've played Watch Dogs Legion extensively over the last couple of days. No crash. It's been a stable ride here.

Had the same problem with COD..huge "lag spikes" / "hangs" in game and in the loading screen...reverted back to previous drivers and this problem has gone away.

Is it suggested to disable hibernation for a gaming rig?I used to do it 2 years ago but recently didn't bother with it since I never put my pc into sleep mode.
My pc is using higher performance power plan with "turn hardisc off after" Never. With C-states/speedstep/fastboot disabled in bios.
Also disabled "Turn on fast start-up" and "hibernate" under define power settings.
