I predict this 250 to 300 gpu will be 600 to 800 hundred AU dollars.

3050 Ti is most likely not going to have 8GB of VRAM.
A Lenovo leak from a few weeks ago listed the 3050 Ti as having 6GB of VRAM (most likely the same GPU as the 3060, GA106, but further cut down) and the 3050 as having 4GB of VRAM (most likely a different GPU, probably GA107).

This might be the real reason that it's 12GB... Miners... Main reason RX 480 was so desirable during the original mining craze and lets be real, AMD, Nvidia and soon to be Intel love miners buying their cards...

    12GB for RTX 3060,really Nvidia?

I would wait for reviews of 3060 if its worth it to put them in rendering rig for friend and how they're comparable with older generation of GPU's

I expected RTX 3080 will be released with 12GB or 16GB as first and for 3070 I expected at least 10GB or 12GB

Literally putting 12GB of VRAM on 3060 is like putting lipstick on pig

    Thanks, Jura

    guys, all the 192 bit bus are a multiple of 6 since 192 is 32 x 6.
So 6GB in 2021 is too little and people would avoid it, 12 is the natural extension of it.
anything between 7 and 11 would be a scandal because of the 970 past experience.

    So that is why 16.
I do not think this is a better buy compared to a 3060ti, if prices were respected, i would go with the 3060ti.
But probably we will pay this 420 euros starting from the 329 + tax suggested dollars.

That's not a good example though, all FX cards were garbage. The 5200 especially with its 64 bit memory and 4 pixel pipelines. At least the 3600 will outperform cards from the previous generation at a lower MSRP, I'd say it will at least be on par with a 2070 Super.

A 192 bit bus will be fine even for 1440p, it has the cuda cores to back it up.

Please tell me this is not BIG slap to the face of 3070 users . That 8gb gonna STINK real soon. Like i said before 3070 is very good 1080p card.

Yes FX were all garbage but thats besides the point. When the lowest tier card had more vram than the flagship, that tells you it was purely for marketing, not performance. Same basically applies to the 12gb 3060 vs the 3070 8gb or 3080 10gb..

The GA106 has a 192bit memory interface. So you can either only put 6GB, or 12GB VRAM on it. Put 6GB on it, and people will cry that it's too little for 2021. Put 12GB on it, and people will cry that it's too much and that it is somehow gonna make the RTX 3060 Ti obsolete.

People that confuse VRAM size with VRAM bandwidth/overall performance deserve to be confused.

    nVidia always do this,since from I remember Kepler cards (3gb Gtx 7080 vs 4GB+ R9 290)

But,this 3060 card with base clock 1.32 Ghz and 12 GB Vram will be very good for miners.Yeah the miners, who nVidia sold entire 3080 FE production (see their last financial report about this).
2013-2017-2021 mining cycles back again.Tnx nVidia, for nothing.

The 3060Ti is around 600$ CAD in Canada so this should be around 500$ CAD. Can't wait for people to start arguing that 3050 cards are now the real mid range gpus and are worth to be sold at 400$ CAD. Man when i bought my 5700XT for 540$ CAD i was buying it as a stop gap 2k card waiting for RTX 3000 because i felt RTX 2000 was not worth the price asked. As it stands i'll probably keep my 5700XT until it dies and then replace it by my shelved GTX 1070 until it also dies and then after that i'll probably have to buy a used 1050Ti card for 200$ CAD.

Agree these 3060 seems are more targeted towards mining crowd what I'm hearing lately

I remember Kepler and GTX780 3GB and then 6GB version, hated that time when I bought 3GB version and then they released 6GB version

I know few people who bought GPUs only for one thing and that's mining, one guy literally bought 8 RTX 3090 and 6 3080 just for mining

    Thanks, Jura

I think I like this chip.

It's probably going to be only around 30-40% faster than my current GTX 1080... not that much of an upgrade... but:
    - HDMI 2.1 - Meaning I use the 120 Hz @ 4K on my LG OLED, including in 2D / Windows desktop (something that I cannot do with old GTX 1080 )
    - Should be cheap (enough!) once availability catches up... I just don't feel like paying €800+ on a GPU, only for it to sit idle 98% of its life... ( I don't game that much anymore, and if I do, it's indie games )
    - No need to upgrade anything else... power supply... and no need to get an AC for my house to remove the 500W of heat that an RTX-3080 PC would put out...
    - Sufficient RAM to use maximum textures in a game, even if I have to tone down the effects and such due to lack of horsepower.

Hope it will actually exist on the market... unlike its bigger brothers.

I had a look at msi website and the whole 3060 lineup is using 15gbps gddr6 not 14gbps like 3060ti or 3070

though looking at 6800xt (16) and 3070 (14) oc results on TPU all current gddr6 memory tops basically at 17gbps OC, no matter 14 or 16 gbps.
