Okay yeah that is what confused me. GPU power vs total board power. So what is the total safe GPU Wattage including board power and VRAM etc? In other words to calculate it total and set it, leaving some headroom. My particular card is the Reference 6900 XT with 2x8 pins. I know it's 375 Watts max total, but what are the numbers on wattage for the other board components?

    My MPT is currently:

    Power Limit GPU (W): 300

    TDC Limit GFX (A): 320

    TDC Limit SoC (A): 55

Wattman +15% = 345 -346 GPU PWR in Radeon Metrics.

The card and junction temps seem to run and operate fine. No hard crashes or anything. I just want to ensure I'm not pushing power too hard as I want the card to of course last and not burn up as it is only 2x8 pins. The Red Devil is the only other card I know of with 3x8 pins currently for the 6900 XT. Ironically my older EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra on EVGA's custom 450 Watt bios was nuts. It could yank every ounce of juice I gave it and boosted to 2160 MHZ, yet somehow this card just decimates it even with a severe overclock.

Okay so I did some quick dirty math. Assuming GPU power is 300 watts (in MPT) and board power draw is 45 watts, that leaves me with exactly 30 watts of headroom so yes it is over the safe limits. So if I do +8% in Radeon Software that gives me an increase of 27.6 Watts totaling exactly 372.6 watt total power draw assuming board component draw.

    So it looks like this:

300 W GPU Power + Board component draw which is 45 watts. = 345 watts before touching anything in Wattman.

2x8 max power draw is 375 watts.

total 8 pin power (375) - current power limits and board power draw (345) = 30.

    8% of 345 = 27.6

    27.6 + 345 = 372.6

So realistically that is the absolute maximum in power draw taking into account all board components without looking at a Red Devil with of course the 3x8 pin layout. I'm currently getting stability down in time spy at the moment so I'll post some scores once I'm finished.

Time Spy has always been a stickler when it comes to stability so I was pleased to see the results:

    timespy.jpg
I raised my undervolt to 1100mV as the card crashed in TS completely in a couple parts of the bench and I dropped the clocks slightly. GPU power was 323 Watts (+45 board components) gives me just around 368 watts total draw. What is insane about this is the temps are rock solid. Even in TS my temps held to 70C and below. So far extremely happy with the results. A "little" more tweaking and I should be locked in.

So I went back and got the max stable undervolt for Time Spy: 1080mV and this is the result:

    3090vs6900xttimepsy.png

With the max power draw and MPT, max VRAM OC, 2530 MHZ minimum, 2730 MHZ maximum for clocks show an 11.77% uplift over the MSI Gaming X Trio 3090. Now what is the uplift on the 3090 with an OC? Not certain, we'd need numbers to compare but for now until I fiddle with clocks in 5mhz increments this is the most stable OC/Undervolt I can achieve. Not bad : D

You might want to play a little bit with the Memory OC. With GDDR6 it sometimes yields better perf to not OC it to the limit (2150) as sometimes the ECC already kicks in, and you see higher MHz numbers but because ECC errors it is actually slower. Might wanna test 3 scenarios // memory fast timings and 2150, memory fast timings and 2130, memory normal timings 2150 (or if lower value yields better perf - test it with this value and normal timings).
For me the sweet spot is around 2110-2120.

Else your GPU is tuned nearly to the max. We need to wait for a flashing tool in order to optimize the timings further.

Interesting. Yeah I'll mess around with it and see. Thanks for the tip. Also, these are now my constant clock speeds in Eve at the moment : P

Well don't ask me how I did it but I did. I achieved a stable undervolt of 950 mV on my 6900 XT. Ran Time Spy Stress Test and passed at 99.4%. I don't think it gets much better than that at this point. GPU is maxed lol. Oh and I did drop the VRAM to 2130 MHZ and kept fast timing as PrEzi suggested, it did make a difference. 2694 MHZ was the boost and never dipped below 2591 MHZ. Avg sustained clock was in the mid 2600's which is insane for a heavy ended benchmark. I think this thing is dialed in now guys. Cyberpunk maintains and I'm not even joking, 2700 MHZ flat. It dips into the 2690's but it is absolutely bonkers what this card can do now. Junction temp peaked at 100C and the card hit a max temp of 78C.

@TaraRead While you have 0.950mV set, it's probably running under load with that voltage you see on second screenshot. Have HWINFO64 enabled on background while running benchmark to confirm that. Also Port Royal is better to test stability than Timespy.

Weird. Looks like it's drawing 1.156 to 1.162 in Cyberpunk. Any idea why?

This is exactly what I was talking about :) when GPU finds it don't have enough voltage it will ignore your voltage settings and in worst case game hangs and/or crash to desktop.

Ahhh. Well that’s interesting. So then is even setting a voltage undervolt possible? Or is it best to just leave it at stock voltage settings to prevent issues? This has all been an excellent learning experience by the way :D

    2600MHz+ at low 950mV :p _> It's just imposible

Guys maby check this out (for the vibe ;))
How much it will boost at 950mV (2000MHz-2200MHz IMhO)

    Try the limits....

Lol the card even when I set 1.162 just took it all at 1.175

EDIT: I found the hard limit of the card. Everyone I present 2724 MHZ (hit 2732) in Cyberpunk lol. Settings in Radeon are:

2665 MHZ minimum/ 2765 MHZ maximum. 2130 VRAM OC with fast timing enabled. Clocks sustained 2.7 MHZ + constantly now. SAM enabled with a 5950x btw and 64gb of ram in case anyone is curious.

@TaraRead try some games with RT enabled, like Quake II RTX or Port Royal Stress test.
In games without RT I usually get 50-75Mhz more.

Might also be because of the differences between 6800XT and 6900XT (72 vs 80 CUs).
Imho for a 6900xt 2x8pin card this a REALLY nice score TaraRead has achieved  If there is any possibility to tune it even more we are talking about <2% :D

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/56592502?

    My msi gamming trio 6800xt

Had to put more power in to it with the more power tool

300w and up the power to 15%

    Stock has 265w and 9%

    Its a crap overclocker

    oh crap sorry.

Its because the gpu is not on the data base.

    it was 17k+
