if its a 2 8 pin card, youd be limited to 375 watt i believe, 150 a piece on the 8 pins and 75 on the pcie slot. afaik
you are right, unlocked bios little help but not much, honestly i see some result from 3x8 pin 3090 and i not impressed... like number looks nice but changing to % its all under 10% , mostly around <5% and if realy unleashed power... well my have 380W and for +5% have 450W + for benchmark is nice , for realife its not meta if you have plenty FPS, say 120, OC not help or not need and if you dont have FPS, CP2077 , any OC dont help because you just have 60
Hi there Yes these ones are BIOS which I use on my RTX 3090.. KFA2 390W BIOS on your RTX 3090 TUF probably will disable one of HDMi port and DP port too, I'm not sure with that, because Asus usually have different I/O layout Same applies for KPE XOC BIOS which 1000W and my recommendation, please monitor temperatures and monitor power draw and if you have IR gun then monitor temperature of PCI_E cables etc Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
375W is stock power limit, KFA2 BIOS will allow go beyond 375W power limit, power limit of KFA2 is 390W,KPE XOC BIOS will allow you to draw 666-700W on 2*8-pin and on 3*8-pin you should see more than that quite easily Best BIOS for 3*8-pin seems is 520W Kingpin BIOS or stock Strix OC BIOS, you always can crossflash GPU with different BIOS If you are under water then KPE XOC BIOS is probably best just as above monitor temperature, because with KPE XOC BIOS every protection is disabled Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Have to agree have tried alternate Bios and have gotten better results but only just, with a lot more power draw, but we are talking a few FPS if its your thing then fine, good luck I might have another go in a year or two when the card starts to be left behind with progress for now it will run along at 1950 plus under water with no tweaks so am happy with it
Thanks a lot Jura. With the KFA BIOS, I noticed the fan curve is quite a bit lower than the ASUS one resulting in higher temps. I set my BIOS switch to the "Quiet Mode" BIOS before the flash, that would not have anything to do with it? As far as I was aware the fan curves are on the BIOS so it is using the KFA BIOS fan curve? Is the only way around this a MSI Afterburner custom fan curve? It would suck as you lose fan stop when idle :/.
Hi there I can't really comment on fan curves between the BIOS, usually fan curve is baked already to BIOS or is down to GPU BIOS itself You can try Gigabyte 390W BIOS which can be better in your case, I tried few BIOS on my and KFA2 is one better BIOS as Gigabyte on my GPU would disable DP port I recommend if you use KPE XOC BIOS which is 1000W, run fans at max speed, lower power limit to 55-65%,I run 75-85% for benchmarks and temperatures been okay Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Thanks I'll give it a go. With regards to the 1000W BIOS I'll think I'll leave that one be, I'm just looking for a bit more as it feels like the 375W is limiting the card a lot.
I would say power limit sweet spot for RTX3090 is around 450-480W where you can see any difference in results/scores and maybe in FPS,I've never run that KPE 1000W XOC BIOS on air cooler and really I can't comment how there will perform,but I would assume you will have higher temperatures with higher power draw,if you will go route of KPE XOC BIOS,just limit power limit to 55-65% as max and test in games or Port Royal and compare if its worth it Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
I posted my results and scores over in this thread and difference between the stock Palit and KFA2 390W BIOS is around 5-8% in Port Royal,in actual gaming,with KFA2 clocks staying in 2115-2130MHz and with stock Palit 370-375W clocks are in 1950-2040MHz and sometimes they will drop to 1850MHz hahaha Tweaks are part of owning the GPU's or CPU I would say Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
If you are interested I can post my Aorus 3090 Xtreme bios. It is 450W I believe, I have seen this exceeded. It supports 3 hdmi and 3 display port. I looked on TPU for my bios and they havent got it yet so this might be a first. Can it be posted here, I think its images only? If not, suggest me a good place to upload it. Hi there This BIOS should be okay for 3*8-pin GPUs but it will not work as intended on 2*8-pin GPU, off course you can flash it on 2*8-pin but you won't hit that 450W, on 2*8-pin you will be limited by 350-370W Hope this helps Thanks, Jura

@jura11 You should try the GameRock bios on your Palit Gaming cards. I did the mistake of accidentally flashing the Gaming OC bios to my GameRock and it worked fine, realized my mistake and flashed the GameRock OC bios to my card.
Hi, I just bought KFA2 RTX3090 and I have the same problem with fans- in browser without graphic card big load, fans switching on for 30-50 seconds with 1600 rpm and switching off, and it repeats all the time, it is impossible to scroll the browser because the noise of the switching on fans is annoying... Could You please tell which one bios did You flash (where to download)? And these NVFLASH commands: nvflash64 -protectoff nvflash64 -6 bios.rom allowed You to flash the bios? Thanks...

Hi, as I wrote one post earlier, I have one problem with KFA2 RTX 3090, when scrolling browser or something else (not gaming), fans periodically switching on with 1600rpm for a 30-50 seconds and then switching off, and it repeats all the time, the noise is terrible... As I understand it is a new nvidia fan control system, which switching on fans if vram, core or some thing else goes over programmed indicators, but KFA2 in their bios wrote too low indicators... Could somebody help and describe how to fix this problem... As I understand, bios reflashing could fix fan issue when the load of the card is minimal... If yes, could somebody tell which bios version (from which vendor) does not have such issue? If it helps- my card has 2 8pin connectors , 3DP ports and 1HDMI port... Thanks...
Hi there GameRock OC won't work on GamingPro GPU's because GameRock is 3*8-pin version and GamingPro is 2*8-pin version and if you use that BIOS on 2*8-pin version you will be limited to 350W power limit Only way how to increase power limit is shunt mod on 2*8-pin or use KFA2 390W BIOS or XOC BIOS I would try KPE 520W BIOS on yours which should work as intended Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
Hi there You have 2*8-pin version or 3*8-pin version of GPU? Which BIOS will work with yours GPU hard to say, I would try Gigabyte 390W BIOS or EVGA RTX 3090 XC3?
