GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 460.97

I am using 2meter Sarowin 8K HDMI cable and so far ok - Sarowin 8K HDMI Cables Version 2.1 - HDMI Cable / Adapter > SAROWIN HDMI Cable v2.0 - SAROWIN (msb.my)

 

Do we know if SteamVR is getting fixed with 3000 series in the next driver? Its pretty bad at the moment. Poor performance and crashing.

 

i figured you might get the test driver.

Thats the best way NOT to get a test driver in the future.

well thats what it looks like after searching around, i ordered a "Certified" HDMI 2.1 cable from amazon,

hands crossed.

 

I'd like to know as well. A hotfix would certainly be in order. It seems VR on my HP Reverb G2 WMR headset runs better on my old RTX 2080 Ti (with older drivers) than it does on the RTX 3090 with the drivers that are available for it.

 

Steam VR will not be fixed in the next driver, the issue requires extensive in lab testing and access to affected hardware, Nvidia may or may not be returning to the campus in early 2021 depending on covid outlooks, so you're basically waiting on that happening.

 

Do you think it would it perhaps be possible that they could port one of the older drivers that's working fine with SteamVR to work with 3xxx Series cards (maybe they even have an internal old driver they used for 3xxx testing that didn't exhibit the issue)? Even that may be helpful to bridge the gap until a proper new driver is ready.

 

Sure, but its not "probable" unfortunately.

Last I saw was a reply by Manuel to a user on reddit about it, he said they were having trouble nailing down the change set that introduced the issue within the span of it going from working fine to stuttering.

Theres tens of gigabytes of source code to pull down and compile to test each and every change in that span, and from what i remember only one of the engineers had affected hardware.
Even if that engineer has Gigabit fiber, its still a lot of work to do on his own.

 

i always forget this key combination, will definitely try next time if i remember (I've also been using this computer alot for working remotely recently, so have been avoiding going on the newer drivers to avoid hassle, maybe next weekend i'll try again, lol)

 

Can you please report back your results, i cannot find any certified cables in my area (dont got amazon) and im really interested in the results (im in the same boat).

I don't know if anyone noticed but the Nvidia fps limiter doesn't seems to be working properly with games that utilize reflex like apex (from what I can tell it's only effecting apex as it's the only reflex game I play)
