Ever wondered what your CPU is doing when the Epic Game launcher is running in the background. In fact, with Ryzen processors, it apparently can increase your proc temp by a whopping 20 Degrees C.

It's still rubbish. You can't have the app in the taskbar at all or it will use up CPU cycles. But get it down as a trayicon and it uses 0.1-0.3%

Oh, so they learned how to misuse our data from the eagle """friends""" at Google and Facebook?

Get real, this is just a bug.

Well if send crypted data, it could be anything and you will never now, unless they will have own Snowden inside company.. but Snowdens story showed, how our society is rotten.. Instead of statue in front of Whitehouse he is hunted as criminal..

probably why i couple of ryzen rigs i build see high cpu load on "idle",
as they all have epic installed..

    @ruthan
funny. doubt you would still say the same if someone would make public your countries "secret" stuff.
his actions were illegal, no matter the reason, and it didnt do anything to change.

I noticed this a little over a week ago. My cpu is idling at 27 right now even with steam and chrome running, if I open epic it jumps to 39. I don't know what the hell they've been doing recently but I'm glad they're fixing it.

I have all game launchers disabled at start up, even with an NVME for my boot drive.
And when I log into any launcher I minimize it. So maybe thats why I havent ever noticed any cpu usuage problems with Epic. Maybe having a 2700x helps lol.

Steam can be forced to use less Memory, GPU, CPU by making a new shortcut with the following switches applied: -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist

Example: The path to the Steam executable is usually installed in this folder in Windows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe"
The shortcut with the switches applied reads like this:

    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -no-browser +open steam://open/minigameslist
Steam will open with a much smaller foot print and will look like this:

When will shopping cart get added to epic game launcher?

I mean.... they were quick to fix this, but a shopping cart, I guess the technology just isn't possible.

who knows. You might be an end user.

When my CPU started going mental while idle, when Win8 kept pushing its updates, when I could not get whats up with processes in task manager.... natural solution ended up being Linux.

Tencent/Chinese government influence makes me avoid anything it's associated with like the cancer it is. It's literally the reason why I refuse to ever buy from the Epic Turd Store no matter what, I just take the free crap they offer.
