Or keeping 240hz and reducing its bit depth to 8bit from 10bit. Best solution is either picture/color clarity or pixel speed/response. Absolute usage according to maximum specifications isn't always wise.

Using 120Hz for now - however using a screen at its advertised specifications isn't a big ask.

Nvidia had the same issues - some were firmware of the screen itself (fixed in 1008.1) some driver. So hopefully it's just the AMD drivers that need to catch up now.

You won't ever reach those 240fps anyway.

In graphically intensive titles no, but in older titles you do.

To my suprise it did feel a lot smoother on the desktop at 240 too.

It's all to do with DSC not being quite ready.

    I'm sure it'll be fixed

Yeah after using 144hz desktop for a few years it hurts looking at 60hz screens

Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined error anyone? I have an RX 580 and latest drivers. When the error happens, wattman also resets. GPU is not OC'ed.

20.12.2 are out, and only for RDNA2. So no Omega thus far.

What does the setting '10-bit Pixel Format' do under Graphics - Advanced?

It happens to me too its a driver issue. Use 20.9.1 and its fine. It happens with overclock or without. I reported to amd, few latest drivers are not playing nice with polaris.

That's the setting color depth under display which I have it set to 10 bpc. Unless these two options are the same which doesn't make sense since this one is disabled.

Enabling the option breaks Freesync. 10bit works for me without the option anyway.

Ok, I will try it bro, thanks. :)

EDIT: Same with 20.9.1... Will just wait for patches. For a game that was 8 years in the making, it has too many issues.

I have seen some comments about stability with Radeon Drivers and RX Vega cards in this thread. I have a Sapphire Pulse 56 flashed with XFX 64 bios. I have ran into a bunch of instability lately and it doesn't look like this driver is any better.

Any recommendations for the most stable Vega drivers? Thanks.

-- No driver will be stable. I'm convinced the Vega series (with certain combinations [monitors, etc]) has a hardware defect.

    In the case of my Vegas, I was only 100% stable so long as I locked the HBM frequency and voltage to the highest state. This applied for me across all drivers, multiple brands of cards, and through several RMA's. {was related primarily to display blanking / standby -- e.g, system would lock up if left idle}

Locking of HBM frequency was done via a Soft PowerPlay table editing {by registry}. I'd suggest trying this first.

This enables a true 10bit color desktop, so that you can use 10bit color native applications, like for rendering and photo work. Not intended for gaming or video watching. It's intended for professional applications.

This 100%, your desktop will actually perform worse while using this setting because the compositor will be in RGBA10:10:10:2
