Leave it alone. Good cooling in the case is what matters most for this kind of GPUs :D

I had issue with VRAM clocks around 2Ghz at 144Hz set on LCD.
Found the fix on reddit (this was also issue for 5x00 cards).
Start CRU 1.4.2, choose your preferred resolution and adjust Timing to Automatic LCD standard.
Now card idle between 6-16W :)

Usually not, simply because the pads are of certain thickness. If you replace them with paste, there likely will be a gap between component and heatsink afterwards.

EDIT: corrected mistake, gap between component and heatsink, not pad and heatsink...

What monitor do you have? Sounds like I may need the same fix, although I'd expect a FreeSync display be built to AMD spec.

Btw one Finnish outlet - there are several contrary to what I wrote earlier - lists expected availability for ASRock brand cards for 16th of December.

Don't mean much but gives hope AIB cards would be available before Christmas.
No other brands show any estimated dates though as of now.

“We have had a private conversation with AMD. They assured us that in 4 to 8 weeks there will be AIB cards available at MSRP.
They said they enabled the AIBs to achieve the 649 dollars [RX 6800 XT] MSRP and they expect that to happen within 8 weeks.”

After some more thought I canceled my order, the price is too steep and I have other pending expenses atm.

Most likely will get one when stocks are better and prices hopefully come down a bit.

Last time, someone tried to explain similar problem with heat pushing up, I did full physics calculation.
Result was simple. Force of hot air going up against regular fan pushing down resulted in some 0.5% reduction in downwards airflow.
As long as case does not have some stupid circular airflow from fans themselves, entire meaningful part of airflow is really not affected by heat itself.

Maybe read a few posts afterwards..... did a simulation on how a vapor chamber behaves too by chance ?

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT Flagship ‘Big Navi’ Graphics Card Features 3.0 GHz Maximum GPU Clock Speed

AMD's Radeon RX 6900 XT, the flagship Big Navi GPU based graphics card, launches next month & is expected to compete against the GeForce RTX 3090. Twitter fellow, Patrick Schur, managed to get access to the BIOS of the reference AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT which reveals a higher max frequency than the RX 6800 XT.
The BIOS was accessed and its specifics were listed within the MorePowerTool which lists down various parameters such as clocks, the power limit, and fan speeds. The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT seems to feature the same fan profiles and power limits as the RX 6800 XT however, the minimum power limit is raised from 6% to 10%

The most interesting thing is that the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT reference model should come with a maximum graphics clock of 3000 MHz or 3.0 GHz. That's 200 MHz higher than the 2800 MHz or 2.8 GHz max clock of the Radeon RX 6800 XT. Using LN2 cooling, overclockers were able to achieve the 2.8 GHz maximum clock speed of the RX 6800 XT and able to break the single-GPU 3DMark world-record.

Now having a wall around the limits of the max clock overclocker's ability to push these graphics cards further since they are hitting the wall easily when running the card on LN2. The RX 6900 XT should allow overclockers slightly higher headroom which is a first for any high-end GPU (to hit 3.0 GHz) but at the same time, overclocking it further would be a no-go unless they can bypass the limit with a custom BIOS.

The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT features more than just higher clocks. It has more cores and a faster-binned GPU which should allow for faster and more stable clocks. It looks like the Radeon RX 6900 XT will be breaking some big world records when it launches.

Anyone got the More Power Tool working for RX6800XT? I can't get it to work properly without locking the card in some weird low power mode...

I saw Igor posting he used it for his reference 6800XT and I tried to replicate the process but can't get it sorted...

I bet people are just going to use 6900xt bios on the 6800xt. If it works Im going to do that

Anyone here who can test these settings on their Radeon 6800:
    - Min Freq: 2400
    - Max Freq: 2500
    - 880mv
    - Memory: 2150 ( fast timings )
    - Fan profile: 25-25-65-70-75
    - Power limit +15%

And yes, I checked, the lower voltage is actually applied with these settings on my GPU. If I increase the voltage, the boost clocks are lower and the performance is lower.

Just to triple check --- 6800 or 6800* (incl. xt) ?
and why ? Some secret hints or what ? ;)

Just to see if anyone else is getting good results with these settings.
