Well frack it, ordered a Sapphire 6800 Nitro+.

No idea of availability date yet though, here's hoping it would arrive before Christmas.
If the info is accurate as of now I should get one from first batch as retailer lists "more than 25 pcs" incoming and current stock is -17 (=17 orders in).

The price is nowhere near comfortable (779 €) but at least it's still notably cheaper than any 3080 here...

Finnish price for reference 6800 is 649 € atm.
(AMD MSRP for Finland is 610 €...).

Something I have become aware of, the raytracing quality issues that are apparent in WD:Legions may actually be an intentional driver optimizations that AMD has not exposed a setting for, like they did with the tesselation factors slider.

That 650 euro reference card price its good,if you can find one.Reference is a solid card anyway.
    780euro for Nitro+ should be ok these days.Congrats. :)

I bet you're one of the folk who absolutely didn't believe AMD was limiting tessellation factors until they came out and admitted to it, before adding a slider to control it.

Because AMD does rays in their CU's, they have control over how many rays the driver permits the CU to process. The amount of rays directly contributes to the quality of raytracing results.

    Let me correct your poll

    a) pays attention to the specifications
    b) calls it how it is
    c) calls it how it is
    d) is permitted to comment on Radeon devices having developed on and for them
    e) wouldn't mind a coke
    f) beer tastes like ass.

Yeah I would have gotten a ref. card but none are available to buy.
The retailer - which is the only one in Finland selling these at the moment afaik - doesn't accept order "queues" for ref. cards, on grounds of not being able to verify any availability.

Ie. you can buy them only when in stock.
Given ref. design cards will not be made in large quantities, it makes sense.

Powercolor 6800 Fighter was closest to ref. price of models purchasable now but as these aren't cheap anyway and the order queue was smaller for the Nitro+, I thought just fork out a bit more and be done with it.
Besides Sapphire and Nitro model in particular should be a reliable choice.

Heh.... I won't feed a troll anymore, so either he finds a new thread to troll or he will go for a diet.

The only one trolling right now is you, so take your head out of your ass and actually look up the definition of it, because its definitely not "someone who knows more than you commenting on something from a position of knowledge and experience both theoretical and practical".

AKA: get deprogrammed, your cultist mindset is showing.

Kind of nasty mistake on a +1000 EUR graphics card... but these things happen.

Perhaps it just came loose in disassembly and was put aside :)

    A good find ! LoL!
Yeah that is why I always buy Sapphire or PowerColor if it is AMD GPU-related product.
ASUS has a very bad history with AMD GPU e.g. the TUF series for RX5xxx GPUs (think they are still under the GeForce "Partner" Program? :D )..

DLSS is upscaling basically, no matter what other techniques it uses. Upscaling is lower quality than native, there's no opinion involved there.

My usual store offered me a PNY 3080, 6800xt nowhere to be found... so i pulled the trigger. Lets hope it will be enough for 1440p for some time lol

Pity you couldn't get a 6800xt but on the other hand --- if you are happy with your card and it meets your requirements then it's all good, cause if you got if for a realistic price (near MSRP that is) then the price/performance is also top with the 3080.
