    Hello,

I have issue with newer Radeon drivers, still from 20.5.1 I have high CPU usage 15-20% on Radeon Software Host Application and "compatibility" in Radeon don't showing on how good GPU and CPU Im running on...
The problem still occurs even on the latest version of the drivers 20.11.2 for now.
Version 20.4.2 is the last working drivers for me without this issue.

I read that a lot of people had a similar problem with high CPU usage since the release of version 20.5.1, they reported various fixes, which I tried, but it still did not solve the problem for me.

I tried completely uninstall all drivers with AMD CleanUp Utility and DDU software too.
I tried deleting folders in documents in Video folder named "Radeon ReLive", Capture folder and recreate them.
I tried turn on and than turn off stream, capture and other settings in Radeon.

So I wonder what's wrong, this version must contain some major changes, even if this update begins the installation requires a restart of the computer after installing the Radeon Software drivers.

Problems can be seen on the screenshots I attached below. CPU high usage in the task manager. And in the screens with Radeon Software at "Improvement advisor - game compatibility" you can see it doesn't show how good components i have, so I think the problem will be with something in this.

GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming X 8GB
    CPU: Intel Core i7 6700
    # amd drivers performance issue adrenalin cpu usage cpu problem cpu error ddu drivers high cpu usage issue radeon software 20.11.2 host application

    Thank you for your time.

  3. Not sure what to suggest. I didn't check with any other driver (including both 20.11.2 base and VRT betas), but with the latest Enterprise driver (20.Q4-nov10), usage is seemingly fine on a 2700X and RX 580:

I have high cpu usage too.I have tested 20.9.2 ,20.11.1 and 20.11.2. Although it doesnt happen always....
    rx580 here with windows 10 20h2.
The problem also happens with my laptop with r7 m445 gpu.
For now i have disabled radeon settings from startup.
If it happens from 20.5.1 then i suppose i will try 20.4.2.

Great news, I'm not the only one. Please, see if "Improvement advisor - game compatibility" also shows you wrong(like on the screenshots in the topic).
Yes, do the removal of drivers via the DDU in the safemod (the easy way to the safemod, is via the AMD Cleanup Utility), in the DDU settings remove the including Intel and Nvidia drivers, including Audio drivers, they recommend. Install functional version 20.4.2 and give info if high CPU usage has disappeared. I'm working on that version and it's OK, everything working great. But I just want (and need to do) to install the latest drivers in the future, for report this bug via the AMD Bug Report Tool included in Radeon Software and then go back to the functional old version. I've heard that if the problem is with an older version than the latest, then AMD won't solve the problem, unfortunately we have to report it over the latest update drivers, so for now 20.11.2, you know. Thank you.

problem is caused by any slimmer you used on the driver package.

Do you have the Intel GPU enabled and drivers installed?

I might be mistaken and it could have been fixed but did you delete the Radeon ReLive directory?

    Same here,
    HP laptop AMD A8-7410 APU+R5+R5 M330
-safe-mode DDU, last driver 20.12.1 and still 25% cpu usage, sfc pass.

With ProcessExplorer kill only "ucrtbase.dll!configthreadlocale+0x50" 25% cpu thread.
No visible influence on functionality RadeonSoftware.exe
    Reported over AMD diag tool.

If you don't run Discord does the high usage continue?
