This still is only about even with AMD. Especially once you get to 8-cores notice how its even a loss for multithreaded? This tells me Intel is increasing the power a bit and cant sustain these improvements on 8 cores which must mean a good bit of this "IPC" is frequency related.

Well, considering difference between 10700k and 5800X is bigger than difference between 5800X and this alleged incoming intel's chip...
What did Zen3 did to 10700k again?

In my world, difference is not that big. But in your own words paraphrased: "Zen 3 did more than beat the crap out of 10700k."
(When using such strong language, it goes both ways.)

Yes and Zen4 will beat the crap out of the Coffin-Lake-S ( S , as in Superlate). We can go on like that .

isn't it because this architecture is 4 power cores and 4 energy efficient cores?

If we are lucky enough, every generation will beat the crap of the previous one, every year. That is fine, and means an healthy technological improvement.
It does not mean that you need the latest generation, even if the improvements are on the double digit area, because games do not get slow at the same pace.

This is exactly how the x86-64 world should look like: a real competition. There are still some people who apparently suffered losses with their plans on the stock market, lamenting how AMD caught up with Intel, but aside from those tools, every consumer should be happy.

Rocketlake is compatible with z490 and is socket 1200. z590 is just a refresh of z490.

Nice! Give us the benchmark numbers in the games that 5600x is faster, so we can try to close the gap with overclocking ;)

10900k with very fast memory is performing pretty well in gaming. I will be surprised if 5000 series is beating it in most games.
10900k overclocked with fast memory is like 35ns memorylatency.

PS: I'm a performance fanboy, so IF 5800x/5900x/5950x is faster in most games when overclocked, I will use this for gaming.

There will always be faster things. Do you need them? No. Processors are already 10 years in the future and are not utilized fully and efficiently by software as they should be. So keep your R5 3600. You actually don't need more. Peace Out. :)

    We don't need it.
What we need is eat, drink and go to the toilet ;)

But, hey! Why not have a hobby?
    Peace and love :D

I'm glad to see the increased memory controller and PCIE lanes. The memory controller might actually help with the increased IPC. These are all pretty good changes.
