    Good points, friend.

It's sad people and devs think sound isn't worth the effort, even though it is a very big part of immersion.

They actually did it. Challenging the 3090.

No RT Gameplay or benches at all eg. Control or similar game.
Hmm, tough choice, 999€ is waaay to much for normal GPU (not even Semi-Pro)

Im leaning towards RTX 3080 Then.... Waiting for reviews to get the best GPU for my needs.

6900xt trades blows with 3090, sometimes loosing sometimes winning depending on the title, BUT lower Power consumption. NICE ! Price however and availability .... 999$ and Dec 8....
6800xt wins or draws in 7 looses in 3 games by a small margin vs 3080. 649$ and avail. 18 Nov. Power consumption = 300W which is lower than 3080.

No word about RT performance but I am confident enough to say once again that it is higher than 2080Ti by roughly 5% but definitely lower than Ampere (>=3080 cause the lower tiers of NV will also have s*tty RT performance).

lol.... I am really surprised that you are so ... blinded! by the green side this time.... blinded is the right word for it really.... RT higher than 2080Ti plus DLSS tech from AMD... at lower price -- 649... I mean... COME ON.

I need best for my needs, if this one get good RT at 1440p i will consider it
But for now RTX 3080 is just better IMhO (Tweaks included).

Im sad cuz' they jumped on nV Guage Train and priced 6900XT at unacceptable 999€ mark (Yes i have for it, but NOOOO).
FFS it's only gaming GPU, ATI is just another nV right now.

Remeber Navi initial pricing? (Yes Polaris grade GPU is now at 400-500€ lol, Better to get PS5 then).

Dude.... you want a 3080 but are talking about 3090 and 6900XT prices.... remember that 6800xt was trading blows with 3080 and in most cases /// winning at all resolutions, at lower power consumption and price ?? 649 and not 999....
999 is for the "halo product" 6900xt which was directly compared to 3090, trading blows with it and 50/50 winning, consuming less power at a lower price (999 vs 1500 IF you are able to buy it at all at the MSRP which I strongly doubt). Same with 3080 -- nowhere to be found for 699... and even worse - only 10GB which is laughable. Realistically we are talking about 850+ dollars for a 3080 and 1700+ for 3090. If AMD will have a good availability and no paper launch like NV, then they already won the first round.

The second round will be once NV releases the 3080Ti with either 12 or 24 GB of RAM (I assume rather 12) at 850++ prices. Then they will roughly match (or be a little bit better) in performance with 6800xt non RT.

    https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-6800-xt
    https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/amd-radeon-rx-6800

All 3 have same memory configuration and same IC capacity.
    Differences are:
    6900XT: 128ROPs + 80CUs
    6800XT: 128ROPs + 72CUs
    6800: 96ROPs + 60CUs

And then clock, which we will likely be able to get to same 2250MHz boost or beyond on all 3 variants.

I was bit afraid that 60CU variant would use 14Gbps memories (latest of inaccurate fake "leaks"), but since AMD states 16Gbps, I can go with that for 1080p. Otherwise I would feel forced to get 72CU variant with ROPs that will be mostly idling.

From Price point 6800XT is best choice. But it would be bit overkill for my 1080p needs.

@OnnA : Just normalize cards you consider to same power draw. What would ~340W 3080 perform like on 300W 6800XT uses?
Or what would 6800XT be like when pushed to 340W?
Once normalized to same power draw, factor in fair performance per $.
6800 XT provides around 15~20% higher (normalized) performance per watt per $.

For people using GBP, I've calculated the prices at the current exchange rates and added VAT, this is likely how much these new cards will cost in UK shops

    6800 £526.48
    6800 XT £590.92
    6900 XT £911.07

  13. Expensive node, big chip, expensive manufacturing at TSMC, more memory chips etc.. What did you expect?
With that said, 6900XT is slightly overpriced (I'd say 150 USD) but don't forget this is their flagship product, these products are always overpriced.

Pricing is perfect. It's exactly the same as before if this power existed. What's your problem here?

6800xt is a much superior gpu to beta vega 64xtx lc and they have really identical price.

6900xt is a much superior gpu to vega FE. Did you forget vega FE with the same msrp?

6800 has much superior performance to vega 64 with almost same price once again.

AMD only lost gpu prices from vega 56 and below.

I think with the card release there will be dlss of their own. End of the year adrenalin will get pretty much an overhaul.

  16. And AMD, unlike NV, kept their 2:1 FP16 vs FP32 scaling:

Peak Half Precision Compute Performance: 46.08 TFLOPs (FP16)
Peak Single Precision Compute Performance: 23.04 TFLOPs (FP32)

yeah.... "RDLSS" confirmed as "Super Resolution" // exactly as predicted.... most of my predictions are 1:1 confirmed. Performance, power usage, rdlss, "special sauce" which is infinity cache mentioned first by Paul from RGT but it was not everything. Think Rage mode and Smart Memory access too. Oh and they also confirmed that they will support Microsofts implementation of Direct Storage too.....
I think I will pour me some vintage whisky now and start to think about lottery tickets now

Oh! And I bet dollars against nuts that these cards will actually have an OC headroom... remove the power limitation and you can reach 2.3GHz + with ease... of course if cooling allows it too. Maybe even you can tweak them for lower power usage but only at 2-3% performance loss... who knows ;);):D
