AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Beats Intel Core i5-10600K

And for a gaming system a 5600X might be well enough for Very High End Gaming rig.

If i could keep my B450 AORUS Pro the upgrade will be pretty massive compared to my 2600X.

From a CPU-Z single score of 484 for the 2600X to well over 600 for the 5600X.

All i need then is a 3070TI or One of Big Navi GPUs and that's me set for a good 4 years.

I honestly don't see the other CPUs on Zen 3 pushing that much more FPS than the 5600X.

The 5800X will only offer a frame or two difference.

 

It will best even 10700k. crap is getting serious now intel.

 

6/12 might fall short in 2-3 years if consoles push the cpu usage to 8 cores.

Im torn between the 5800 and the 5900... Reviews cant come soon enough.

Damn if that's true then AMD really gonna dominate all segments easily and intel gonna became the "value" brand.

 

Value means you are cheaper but when you are more expensive and slower than everything falls apart.

 

It will not fall short. Not a chance i can bet GOOD money on that , consoles will push GPUs trues , but forget about CPU , unless they create some new features that will punish CPU.

 

To be honest, the 5900X costing just 25% more than a 5800X and having 50% more cores makes the 5900X more of a no brainer to me. 8 core is a weird one considering it costs way more than the 6 core but not much less than the 12 core

 

And you can game at 4k with quad core

 

Yeah and 2gb vram is enough at 4k too.

 

8-10gb looks about enough. Spent hrs last night watching benchmarks saw a few games hit 9gb which means I think 3080 plus 4k the smart move as it stands. From what I saw, I'd love some feedback from Gurus.

Am considering now an Amd if can find a 6 core that saves me £100...then I dont mind getting the 3080. 12Gb looks perfect at 4k but how much are games affected when you go over the vram limit.

I havent seen any evidence how its overtly detrimental to your experience but could be wrong.

 

10gb seems enough atm but its up there on the border of not being enough from what i've seen.

8gb is not enough and many reviewers already mention the doom eternal massive fps drops with the 2080. Even if one game shows actual vram usage exceedes 8gb i consider it not being enough especially when next gen games starts using raytracing that ups the vram usage exponentially.

 

Synthetic 14% is not so much,but in gaming and the future proof AM4 design matter most of the time.
Intel is in trouble because they cannot change that monolithic design on the fly and that new socket of them is not so future proof as AM4 (when you can get like Ryzen 1xxx to 5xxx on the same socket).

I just hope prices will stabilize fast as the new parts are expensive atm.

 

My take on this is partially the opportunity cost, for AMD that is.

Any fully working 8-core chiplet that's sold as part of a Ryzen 5xx0 is one that's not going into an EPYC chip, with far higher margins.

And production capacity will be constrained for some time I'd imagine.

Assuming, and HH will show us come review day, most games don't scale perfectly from 6 to 8 cores I'd be inclined to go for the 5900X myself. It's just that much better for productivity at a very small additional cost.

 

Can't wait for the 3600 price to drop so maybe I can grab one to replace my 2600.

 

There is a very good reason for this - the 5800x will consist of a single 8 core ccx, where all cores are enabled.

The 5900x will consist of 2 ccx where 6 of the 8 cores are enabled. This allows for "faulty chips" to still be sold.

The fact that the 5800x only consists of a single ccx (unlike previous ryzen chips, that only had 4 cores per ccx) means it will have much lower latency than the 5900x, which is what matters for gaming, and the reason that intel has held the gaming crown for so long.

In other words, the 5800x will be THE gaming chip to get.
