Yes can see it now Really like the Auros design, so I been considering to try get the 3090 version of your card. ^^ Seen you mention great temps on previous post. But wondering if you have heard any coil whine from the card and do the fans get loud when close to max speed? The room where I have my PC can get very hot sometimes. :>
Too bad about the 320W limit, indeed MSI is strangely conservative with power limits compared to other manufacturers. My Trio is rated to 350W even though it has three power connectors but there are Premium cards out there that go higher than that. So I guess the TimeSpy scores are somewhat explainable (though the difference is still quite big) but what I don't get is the huge FPS loss you see in games. Sure you've done a clean install with DDU before installing the card? 30W less shouldn't account for a huge FPS loss.
No coil whine that i'm able to hear. Even on max, you can hear them, but they are far from distracting. I run about 80% fan speed when gaming and temps are great and it's no louder than any of the case fans in my PC. The card boosts to 2100 out of the box and settles at between 2040-2070 with the odd dip into the high 1900's but that's rare.
Yeah, did a DDU just before i pulled the old card out. I did a 4K test yesterday. At that resolution the CPU should not be a factor. Tested with Shadow of the Tomb Raider. My first run i was 20% lower what Hilbert got, Second run i was 18% lower score. According to the benchmark i was 99% time GPU bound. Same with Breakpoint, around 30-40FPS lower than all the other reviews. About 20-30FPS lower in BFV with raytracing.. so don't know whats all that is about. Might try a fresh install of windows before i ship this card back to the reseller.
It's not too much of a stretch to assume Nvidia already has some 7nm RTX samples since they already use TSMC's 7nm FinFET process for Ampere A100.
@Steppzor : what is your CPU uncore ratio set in bios? is your card properly seated? maybe it's running in PCIE 3.0 x4 speed?
CPU is 4.8Ghz Ring ratio 44 PSU: XFX ProSeries Black Edition 1050w. It's somewhat old, but still running good (i hope). Never given me any problems Have reseated the GPU Just finished reinstalling the computer. Going to try benching again soon.
My score with the card at stock after a reinstall of windows https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/51716833 The score actually went up from, but the avarage coreclock went down? I don't know anymore..
finally some one posts another *stock* score lol. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/14542921/spy/14579734 my stock over clock is lower but i get just a tad more than you probably because of the cpu. It seems we are hitting a cpu bottleneck on 3Dmark. OK UL time for a new free benchmark!
Does that card have the same powerlimit? Either way, no change in gaming performance after windows reinstall..
Anyone with the EVGA Ultra FT3 try flashing the updated BIOS for more power? I'm trying to figure out do you have to run both ZIP files (one for each of the two BIOS) or is one factory (stock) and the other the OC more power one? https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForc...wlZ4Dl8gZ7iIotf9B-UsDV8Ekb38heynGv4KaiOV7z6ao
i don't know where it shows in gpu-z but on the website it says 320w. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/evga-rtx-3080-xc3-ultra.b8041
