Hoping that it'll get a Ryzen 5000 supporting BIOS. I don't know if I want to start upgrading motherboard as well. Even if the said the Prime X470 Pro is not that great.

Well looks like ASUS do not provide Bios for "older" x470 boards.Hopefully they change their mind,Soon.

    "ASUS Support:
I am writing this email to provide you an update about your ongoing case. According to our engineers, We have no plans for the Crosshair VII Hero to support the Ryzen 5900X, please purchase Crosshair VIII Hero and any Ass (*ASUS) B550 motherboard that will support Ryzen 5900X and 5000 series processors."

How so AlmondMan? I’m curious. I use an ASUS Prime X470 Pro, and it seems to work fine.

I have one too. But I just remember some critique of it from Buildzoid when it was new. Who knows. Has been pretty stable over time for me as well. Not really interested in buying a new board if I can plop in a 5000 series to replace my 2000 series.
But if an expensive board like the Crosshair 7 hero won't be getting an upgrade, I figure this won't either.

I have been reading conflicting information concerning about X470 ASUS boards. I’ve read that they won’t support Ryzen 3, and I have also read that they will.

I guess we wait and see.

Hate ASUS boards always built to a price and a reputation but the backup I find poor and the price OTT prefer Gigabytes ultras and upwards

They are going to support them, just not sooner than January. The previous rumour (the actual conflicting one) was due to misinformation conducted by some uninformed Asus-rep.
