Hi there In Angelo defence I will say, he is pro OC, I'm I would say peasant hahaha, I maximally do water OC, I wouldn't touch LN2, maybe chiller but still not sure if its worth it for myself and I would probably have look at his history in OC on Hwbot plus he said that already he ordered waterblock for his GPU I run all my GPUs OC to max what they can do, I don't care about power draw, on my Asus RTX 2080Ti Strix I'm running 2205MHz daily, Zotac RTX 2080Ti AMP running 2115MHz and EVGA GTX1080Ti running 2126MHz and Ryzen 3900x running 4.35GHz on all cores Madness for me is not to OC and not to put under water Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
It's been my hobby for close to 20 years and is much cheaper than my old hobby of racing cars on the drag strip . Perhaps take a look at hwbot for mad pro overclocking on liquid nitrogen wish i will run soon. It's a lot of fun for me doing voltage mods and using liquid nitrogen to find the maximum the hardware goes. If i'm happy doing it that's all it matters to me hwbot = A place for competitive benchmarking - https://hwbot.org/ My profile at hwbot - https://hwbot.org/user/chispy/ This interview of the overclocker magazine was in 2013 when i was in the top 3 world wide rank at hwbot Pro overclocking , read pages 6 to 8 , there you can learn more about me and my hobby - https://issuu.com/theoverclocker/docs/theoverclocker_issue_23?viewMode=doublePage
@chispy Fantastic! Thanks for sharing this, it's a whole other world i understand that and appreciate it. The 7970 lightning is one of my favourite cards of all time, the sleek black and yellow.
Look at this crap. 460w without overclocking. 390w at 58% usage. I would not be proud of this engineering
the only reason fury x and vega were crapped on about their power consumption was because it didn't correspond to significant performance gains.
This release is an absolute farce. Literally impossible to buy one of these cards unless you're monitoring 24/7 or have software that does it. Both the 3080 and 3090 have been the worst launches in graphics card history, and I might just skip this gen or wait till they're widely available and down in price. 2080Ti will do me.
My RTX 3090 Zotac Trinity arrived yesterday! Ordered on launch day, supposed to arrive next day. Retailer oversold allocation but said I would get one by October 16th. Much faster than my RTX 2080Ti. Very happy to join the owners club.
Still waiting for my 3090 strix oc. My vendor hasn't got any info about when they gonna get delivered.
I remember there was a setting somewhere which completely killed performance. Not sure which one though, just that there was one.
