I would test it, but, seems that it's only for 2004. My VA panel suffers this since forever in certain scenarios.
Followup: I see they fixed some issues with HMD's, so I am guessing the VRR fix was a silent bugfix that they came across. Another game I have issue with is Divinity 2. The start up menu is capped to 30fps, and would flicker like mad. Now, it's perfect, except still being 30fps.
Be careful with the last optional update (Kb4577063) there seem to be reports of issues with external USB storage. https://www.tenforums.com/windows-1...ndows-10-v2004-build-19041-546-oct-1-a-4.html
Runs fine for me, running 20H2 .546 preview on my gaming machine and 2004 .546 on my office machine. The latter took quite a while with rebooting but functioned fine afterwards.
its a system specific issue, most likely has some weird unsupported file system filter installed and forgot all about it.
Maybe, I guess we will find out with more time, there were a few in that post that reverted back, (some with no real detail on why). I didn't have any problems with it on my end but no USB storage. I do have wifi USB controller but that is working fine.
Could it be a program that you have installed? is that something 10 does? block installation of an update if there is a particular program installed that is no longer working on the newer build?
I have an idea to see if I can upgrade. I have an spare HDD. I will install 1909 there, clean, with only the drivers and see if I can upgrade. But, nothing I can think of that would conflict.
the features for 20h2 already exist in 20h1, a small several hundred KB msu is installed to turn them on.
so is 2004 build stable enough to install? or should stick with 1909 or is another "build" reinstall coming? in which case I be waiting again
I can only speak for myself, 2004 seems very stable but to be honest I never had issues with the first org update other than the defrag one which is a very minor thing. That said in 1-2weeks 20H2 will be out which is a very small update and trigger features, so might as well wait for the 2nd Tuesday of this month will probably be updated.
hmm I will think about, I current just updating usb stick i made like 6+ months ago with 2004 build on it with a more up to date usb install , I will "try" in place upgrade again like did with that last " build " installed and see what happens. when I do the upgrade Honestly I tired of have to clean install windows year untill windows 10 I did clean install windows once ever 2 more years unless something catastrophic happen. my 820 128gb samsung SSD has seen more format and write to it since windows 10 then all the formats and clean installs of windows I did on entire time I use window 7 and xp prior. I think Apple handles this OS upgrade way better then MS does I have never had issue with iOS being upgraded, short of short of battery life seem to get worse with each upgrade
