those spikes are normal, higher voltage but low current stuff.

    @mcdull2k
of course its faster, pbo is "auto" oc based on if certain cooling/voltage/current limits have been reached.
turn it off for testing, but for ST/gaming use pbo can have better performance.

    @UDev97
go thru the whole prep stuff again, run CB (out of the CTR folder) and ryzen mast at least once BEFORE using CTR.

I get pretty much the same thing, Aorus Pro, 3900X. It seems like a lot of people with Aorus boards - and mainly 3900X paired with it also have this issue.

I've tried so many different settings and always the same thing, diag runs ok, give me what look like encouraging settings but no matter what I try it will hit a point in the second part where it just seems to do something that causes the system to hard power reset.

I've tried all kinds of BIOS settings, changing things like the polling period and CCX delta, hoping that the polling might catch the issue quicker or that the delta would increase past the 75MHz it seems to always run with. Nothing works. :(

The only thing I have achieved is by getting it to hard restart at a different step in the test but it's always the same result effectively.

Admitted I've not done any overnight/24Hr stress tests but I have ran various stress programs for hours at a time and cannot find a single one that will give me errors/fail, let alone one that hard resets the PC like CTR does. :/

The last post from 1usmus seems to point the blame at a bad PSU, which I guess in my case 'could' be the issue as it is fairly old at this point and is well used.
But saying that it is a decent Corsair 850W and it doesn't seem to give me issues with anything else.

    v.v. odd.

There must be some setting or something we're just missing?
Seems really strange so many Aorus / 3900X users have the same issue.

Hello, I have an Asus A520m-k motherboard. The article does not list the A520 chipset as supported, but later in the article it states that all AM4 boards are supported in spite of limitations AMD has set. I ran the diagnostic but it runs for hours. The settings the bios are not the same as seen in photos from the article. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Many thanks!!

The problem is BIOS F30, it's not stable.
You better roll-back to F2x if it works or even better F11/F12

Yes, it does seem baffling...;) I wonder if my PBO settings might have something to do with it--I run with PBO scaling set to 4X and I wonder if this somehow isn't compensated for in the main program. Don't know. Diagnostics complete--with no vdroop messages. Don't see any vdroop messaging in diagnostics, not until I'm actually running the main overclocking program. Like you, I have no other problems--can game for hours when the mood hits without a problem. It doesn't seem to be LLC-related as this happens with med/high/turbo LLC settings. I'm not overclocking my ram--well, beyond stock XMP overclocking, that is. My PSU is a Corsair HX-850 which I bought only a couple of months before I bought the CPU last July (bought a 3600X in July, then a 3900X in March). I often hit single-core overclocking over 4.6GHz regularly, so I don't think the PSU in my case would be the problem. None of the Wattage, TDC or EDC numbers in the program ever get close to the default numbers the program assigns these values. And of course my GPU isn't even running in 3d, let alone being stressed, so I don't think in my case the PSU would be it. Seems like it's just a bug in the program that is triggered by something that may be in the AGESA's our bioses are built on--or just in the non-AGESA bios code, etc.

Just for fun I think I'll try running my ram with XMP timings and clocks turned off to see if that makes a difference. I'll come back and report what happens.

I'm not having any stability problems with F30--however, I can attest that XMP settings don't function reliably in F30. However, I found that when turning XMP off and simply setting the multiplier as if XMP was on (37.33 in my case) the 4x8GB Patriot Viper Steel ram runs like a top--and even with my faster-than-stock XMP timings being used. I had read of other people with other types of system ram being able to do that on earlier bios versions, and who experienced no problems. Haven't had any problems thus far. I can't help but think I might have turned off XMP much sooner if I had only tried it....;)

Anyway, am going to clock the ram back to 1066MHz and run the test again--see what happens.

The difference with CTR using F12a is huge.
Enable SVM in BIOS and test with TM5 25 cycles and y-cruncher stress test for 2 hours.
You may find out it's not stable.

CTR was a bit too optimistic with clocks. After a few hours of testing with Prime95, I figured out the max stable clock I could achieve was 4375 MHz at CCX1 and 4350 MHz at CCX2 under 1.262 V.
It's still a massive improvement over stock 4075 MHz at 1.44 V with PBO reaching maximum of 4200 MHz for a second or two at CCX 1 and 4150 at CCX2.
The temps are in check as I'm using a massive cooler Noctua NH-D15S and my case is airflow oriented.

Note step #9...It looked to me like the software had reached 4375Mhz and decided it was unstable, and was beginning to reduce frequency to 4350MHz to test as the highest stable speed--apparently--and then...the software started throwing out "Too High voltage!" warnings all of a sudden...The system *did not crash* but I got these warnings, the program ceased running, and I rebooted.

This is definitely something in the software, apparently. I'll check back later...maybe there will be a beta 4 out tomorrow...?

I had issues with Beta 3 there seems to be an allowance to get closer to too much voltage on load.
Ive had several reboots and a BSOD even when I first started the stress test.
For me this is far from stable.
This brought clocks up by 50mhz on CCX3 and 4 but running Cinebench with those clocks after stress tests either crashes CB or reboots the system.

Ran CTR with LLC set to Auto based on the info given in the changelog for beta 3. That was the only way to get rid of most of the LLC too low messages. Received highest cinebench multi score compared to auto PBO and undervolting via offset by 0.1 V.

    MSI Pro-VDH Max B450, Ryzen 3600.

Well, haven't found any instability with it in the software I run--but it doesn't handle XMP well--at least with my ram. Other people report the same--but some XMP settings seem to work with F30. But I have reverted to F22, for the time being, as there is something buggy about F30 in terms of XMP support. So...where's there's one bug...there are usually more...;)

Getting ready to try a b3 run with F22...curious to see if there's a difference! Will report back.

I'm having an issue where all the CPPC tags are the same: 136. I'm comfortable with overclocking on my own, but it would make things much faster with quality numbers per CCX. Why is ClockTuner not showing CPPC values? Is there any other way for me to get the values or quality of each core?

I'm using a 3950x. I've tried to enable and disable CPPC in bios with no change in ClockTuner.

Crashed at step #7 as you can see. I'll check back tomorrow. Suffice it to say that I've done everything I can think of--even set PBO to Auto--main program crashes all the same--at always the same place, thereabouts. Hope this will be of some value to 1usmus!

Great software, shame my CPU is such a dud.
My 3800X gets Bronze rating with the best CCX at 130 D:
Seems like it barely keeps the stock speeds stable.

Highest OC I got to was 4100 all core (1.35v), PBO will just perform better for this bin I guess... :(

Hello, just registered to thank the creator, I'm going to donate when I have the chance to put money into paypal
I've got one problem tho, no temperature readings in the log and some strange reports without voltage, can someone help me?, here is the log:

No, you have to reinstall the app i believe if you dont do it first time. Its not listed as a requirement to start the app, just to install it, unless I missed it elsewhere:

Nope il just uninstall it and wait. It has ran terriblly after 3 reinstals. The instructions are not clear at all and and the app has so many design flaws that seem to be there on purpose. I wouldnt actually mind fixing up the source code myself.

My default clock speed yielded a higher score for crying out loud...
