Since setting this back down to 0 yesterday and letting it get .1016, after it had updated to that build I can no longer set the option for quality updates back to 30.... why is that?
Those settings are deprecated in 19041.488, I don't even have that page/option show anymore (I am on Win10 PRO). The only option is pause update, I do beleive you can still do it in GPE.
I really should have posted in 18363, you are on 2004, this is 1909.... I figured it's related to my last comment so I'd just put it here. Seems odd for it to be disabled. *edit* Figured it out... thanks for the hint. Run gpedit.msc Computer Configuration > Windows Components > Windows Update > Windows Update for Business Which then shows it set here, but funnily enough it's greyed out still despite showing the wait period.
Preparing the Windows 10 October 2020 Update Ready for Release https://blogs.windows.com/windows-i...ows-10-october-2020-update-ready-for-release/
Interesting 508 as the final build but 538 for testers last week and yesterday 541 for the beta branch insiders. KB4577063 Might just be the upcoming October cumulative though updates continue after all. (Patching a ton of files as usual but then it's 19041 and 19042 both and then a separate enabler package activates the new features.) (SSU) (Or 32-bit versions if anyone is using this for their main systems these days but it's still available.)
why the hiding that in gpedit.msc ? they put that stuff in setting for reason now they removed? they went from giving us the option to delay that easily for all to making so only people have that have pro can editing that feature? wish MS would make the freaking minds up wtf there doing
Thanks for the link, do you have links for the 20H2 and SSU files as well? Was planning on clean installing a while ago so I might as well fiddle with some pre-release stuff.
I wonder which part of my PC is not compatible with 2004. Could it be the sound card? I have had 2004 before via clean install, but, I formatted because I wanted to go back to 1909. But, I am curious what is not compatible. Is there any way to check?
@MerolaC These are the current known issues: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004 ; so one of them is probably affecting your system
Yeah, I saw that site. But, nothing there applies to my setup. I was thinking maybe a log file somewhere. Anyway, I might use the ISO and be done with it. Edit: Hell, even with the ISO I can't upgrade.
19042.456 is up on the preview branch. kb4577063 via MyDigitalLife x64 http://download.windowsupdate.com/c..._f4a435fc0712c929d2b814528d0f9cf42bd9f8dc.cab - 349,15 MB x86 http://download.windowsupdate.com/d..._be31f7dbd6339923b7b84b3bf67aec891b9d2132.cab - 116,79 MB Updating from 19042.541 https://blogs.windows.com/windows-i...dows-10-insider-preview-build-19042-541-20h2/ (Or older it's a cumulative after all but that was the previous public one.)
It couldn't be you're sound card, I mean I have an older X-Fi sound card and 2004 installs fine. What happens if you try installing 10 with only the drive plugged in that windows is going to be installed on, like any extra storage drives unplugged, only the main HDD plugged in. I guess if that doesn't work you could unplug the sound card to see if that works, but that wouldn't make sense, I mean there are drivers for you're card for Windows 10.
Yeah. It's not the sound card as you say. I didn't try that, but I don't think unplugging the drives will work. Besides, it will brake havoc on my system because I have apps all across the drives. I will just wait for whatever is next. Thank you for the input though! Much appreciated.
I just installed kb4577063 on my 20H1 2004 build, and for some reason, my VA panel is no longer flickering when the fps fluctuates when I start games. This has been the biggest annoyance with this panel. I am just in awe. I have to see if this remains the same after I reboot again, heck, even start another game.
