I... just did it. Ordered 3090 Gaming X Trio. Guess i'm gonna eat pasta and play free to play games for a year now
So you felt it's worth it after reviews? Knowing that 3080 ti is gonna beat you? You're a true early hero!
There's different flavors of instant noodles at least. Congratulations on finding a GPU that was available for purchase too, should look up on the reviews even if the GPU itself is beyond my financial means. EDIT: Hmm well maybe it can, there is a bit of weight to the GPU. But yeah where does the S rated 3080 squeeze in here. Well suppose that will be answered whenever the reveal for those are going to be.
Got it for 1720euros, again, if i didn't have a youtube channel that was paying for it, i would have kept my 3080 order instead of cancelling it.
Sold my 2080-ti a month ago at 900euros, i have a youtube channel that brings in pocket money (100-300$ per month), ... ! Also i'm currently indie game dev doing 3D work all day long ( alongside programming).
I was mildly curious whether you have wife and children (trying to add my bit of humor to yours in OP... there was a humor in your OP, wasn`t there?), I was not asking how could you afford...
To be honest, had i not sold my 2080-ti 900euros a month ago, it would have been a whole different story. My case is NO WHERE near as cool as yours
3%-8% faster than the 3080 for 100% extra is not great value in my opinion even if it does have 24 GB of VRAM. I was expecting more performance for that price to be honest. This in turn means that any 3080 Ti would be equally disappointing so maybe NVIDIA won't release that model? I have decided to hold off getting a 3000 series GPU until AMD's Ryzen 4000 CPUs are out then I will buy a pre-built liquid-cooled CPU and 3080 system with the best spec I can have for my budget of £2,400. I need a new PC anyway as my current i7-4770K system was built in June 2013 and, to be fair, has lasted me well.
A bit off topic If you're swapping it out very soon I might be interested of buying that cpu off of you. Can you tell me what is stock cpuvid in bios, cpu voltage? Is it bellow or around max 1.00v?
Well enjoy your monsters guys I hope one of you puts that thing under water and helps me decide if it's actually worth it!
The difference between 3080 and 3090 is big when power limit isn't a factor. Check TPU ASUS 3090 review, 19% faster on average than 3080. OC + raised power target to 480W and it's like 25% faster. 3090FE is very power limited.
i have the money to buy this, but unfortunately i also have common sense. what a joke to spend all that cash on video card that will be worthless in a year
So according to your logic and speculations the best (kingpin one) could be 50% faster than 3080. Not.
I sat at home 4 pm, spamming refresh on Finlands bigges PC-store's web-page. Ordered TUF version instantly, saw there was whole 6 for them to sell. By the time I got checked out, they were gone and I'm on a long waiting list. Might just cancel it.
