Extra work is an understatement. It needs lot of love which i hope MS will give cause a seamless experience between PC and Xbox would be awesome. We are currently far from that but yeah the service itself minus the app is awesome. Wonder what they'll do with the Bethesda client.

And I'm sure it will have big, fat "Microsoft" and "Plays best on Xbox" logos all over it. ;)

There is something more disturbing in this whole thing.
iDTech engine is running on Vulkan, not on DirectX.
And some of Bethesda games are using that engine.
Step back and think for a second.
The biggest company owning and backing DirectX just bought the engine running on Vulkan.
Vulkan, the open source promise of a better DirectX alternative.
So, there is a more wicked move from Microsoft, as they can not be trusted on this.
Call me a madman, but history has a perverse way if repeating itself and people not learning and forget quickly who is the bad guy writing the history.

Gaming on other platforms just took a heavy blow today, Vulkan is at peril.

That's one way of looking at it. Microsoft Windows supports Vulkan. They obviously didn't fear it enough to do that. And also Microsoft is putting effort into improving Linux now too.
I think they bought them for their IP's, such as Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, not to kill off a Vulkan engine

I'd love to see a new Halo game using ID Tech 7 or whatever the latest ID Tech engine is. ElderScrolls with the latest IDTech engine would be nice too.

@theoneofgod This is for another thread and entirely different discussion, but Microsoft is NOT loving Linux.
They simply deceive and use their advantage as platinum member in Linux foundation to modify and corrupt the Linux movement.
Sounds very conspiracy theory alike but prove me wrong in the next few years, months.

M$ is a cheater with infinite ammo. lol
Just like anticupidon I believe it is a threat to Vulkan.
The only game I really care about in this drama is Quake.

Easy list to make for EA, google. Harder to make for Microsoft, EA has the controversy here. But I'm open to be proven wrong.

Now I can finally free my poor soul of any hopes for a proper, nice, microtransaction free Elder Scrolls SP title like Skyrim was.

M$ should just drop the whole store thing and stick with their own launcher Xbox app for PC and just have one more launcher to deal with.

It can only be better (i wasn't thinking that one day i would write something like that about M$ aquisition... lol)

Why do think that, M$ gain a lot of money on other OSes and consoles, if it come from Sony or Apple it is still good money, even Sony quit little by little with the "Exclusive on PS" and step back even with their own studio...

  20. Oh thank god, if anyone can rein them in perhaps MS can..
