RTX 3080 OUT OF STOCK FROM NVIDIA UK

Not even. I was refreshing both those sites from 2pm onwards and all i got was 'Coming Soon' then 'Pre-order' directly after the page updated.

 

Any news from asus? i want the strix versions.

 

I can't even pre-order from nvidia.nl. Just out of stock.
And to think I wouldn't even mind waiting a couple of weeks.
I suppose it will be an AIB card again, at least those can be pre-ordered, although no given time of expected delivery.
Couldn't they even wait with the announcements and release dates till after they've plenty of stock to deliver?

 

Got an email from scan, right now pre-order only.

 

I don't believe a word of it. I'm seething so hard I swapped out the 2070s and went back to the Radeon VII.

I managed to order an EVGA 3080 from Scan UK at about 2:05pm, I just about got to the end of the payment procedure before the website seized up.

As I sat there, watching the endlessly spinning "progress" wheel, thinking it had failed, an email arrived confirming the order. Status on the order now shows as "Awaiting Picking".

When I ordered it, it was £649.99. At the time of writing this, it is now at £719.99. It went up by £70 in 30 minutes.

Like many others, I thought I'd snag a FE from Nvidia....I even set up my Nvidia Store account last night - "How clever am I?" I thought to myself...yeah, right!

What a shambles....virtually every retailers site I tried melted down in a matter of seconds.

 

Insanely pissed off with this crap show of a release.

 

This like amd level of release screw up.

 

overclockers and scan sites both appear to have been totally destroyed by the 3080!

 

Got a unconfirmed shipping date at 27th september on my order from a local retailer. Crossing my fingers that it dosent change

 

Ebuyer too.
It lets you view the cards, but just try and preorder one, no chance.
You get the same page or an error.

 

The 6 cards available worldwide must be behind the delay in reviews, all the stock was taken from stores and given to reviewers late.
Joking aside, this has to be the worst NVidia launch on record.
You cant even preorder AIB cards from other sites, now over 6hrs after launch.
Its like there never were any cards and there is no prospect in the short term.

I mean its possible "all" sites broke under duress, but thats not easy to believe, these stores arent newbs.

 

OcUK has been dead for many, many hours now. What is going on here?

Past launches weren't like this.

 

Something broke. Either the host pulled the plug due to suspected DDOS or some part of the system couldn't handle the load and broke and cleanup/repair/restart is taking a long time.

The stores did have them. Scan had several models available at 2PM but by the time I had decided which to get, they had all sold out.

 

I dont doubt there were a few, but not even being able to preorder is ridiculous.
I spared myself the stress of trying to get a card at launch only to find its impossible to line myself up for one later as well!

 

There will be more batches of course, and they will all sell out fast.

That's gonna last for a while.

 

Complete shambles, I can't believe the cards single handedly killed multiple large retailers ! In 2020 with tonnes of bandwidth, queuing system load balancers - a measly 12 or so cards have taken businesses offline - I mean it's gonna cost the business tonnes of lost business just for these cards - just unfathomable

 

From the looks of it what I can remember when OcUK started grinding to a halt, it's coming up on nearly 4 hours now that it's been dead.
