Big Navi termed skin, which I promised before, is not reflected in the release notes and not included in this beta yet because AMD published final look of Big Navi cooling system just a couple days ago. So Chris is reworking it a bit to sync skin shape with it. But it will be available shortly.

Release time doesn't depend on me and I cannot predict/address it.

-Added new fan control 3.0 API support

What does this mean exactly? Will Afterburner be able to control triple fans on an EVGA product because of this?

If they use standard controller, like Nvidia FE then yes.
If they continue to have an extra oem controller for the third fan, then no.

Of course it will not. It NEVER will support third party cooling solutions using non-refernce fan cotnrol.

I really hope Ampere doesn't inherit Turing's annoying fan spinning/stopping limbo that draws funny sinus curves into the fanspeed graph when speed falls below a certain threshold too quickly :( . Otherwise it'd be nice if fan speed decline was limited to e.g. 1% per second.

MSI AB 4.6.3 beta 2 build 15840 with NVIDIA Ampere support is online:

    https://www.guru3d.com/news_story/download_msi_afterburner_4_6_3_beta_2.html

When using new NVIDIA's OC scanner pay attention to release notes and to info mentioned by Hilbert in a link above. Current implementation of NVIDIA's core clock scanning seem to be way too optimistic at the moment, core clocks it detects were unstable on all boards we tried. Memory clock scanning is quite opposite, we reached much better clocks with manual memory clock adjustment. In fact OC Scanner autodetected +200MHz memory OC on all systems I tried, and manual OC coud acheive 2-3x higher clock offsets. OC Scanner does perform some memory clock stress-testing on the final stage of OC scanning (you can notice it by rapidly growing "FB usage" (i.e. memory controller usage) close to end of OC scanning process, but repeatable +200MHz result on all systems makes me think that it is probably not working properly yet.
But thanks to new OC scannner API architecture, it is no longer separate software library, it is a part of NV driver now so expect it to improve with new driver versions. No MSI AB or similar tools updates will be necessary when NV fix it, just driver update.

Thanks, I assume OC Scanner is no longer working with Pascal? I get various errors (10h, 22h) when I try to launch it.

NVIDIA officially supports new OC scanner API on RTX 20x0 and 30x0 series only.

I just stumbled onto a bug, not sure if its been mentioned before

    if LayeredWindowMode=2 and Skin=MSIIndigo.usf,

0xc0000005 occurs in RTUI.dll - it crashes switching to this skin as long as alpha is on, colourkey is fine.

Afterburner will not start until the cfg is edited for either field.

Probably been mentioned before, and i did search in thread but didn't see anything.

Thanks, I'll redirect it to @Drerex. We had the same with Ampere skin on early stage, it is definitifely a result of using wrong (differently sized) base and alpha bitmaps for one of skin controls.

Thank you for pointing this out. I edited the alpha and tested it in every layered mode. Looks good now and should see an update soon.

    F I guess.
To return functionality to Pascal cards it would mean to revert to old driver, plus old MSI AB, or just old driver would suffice?
Pretty lame taking away functionality that existed for a year.

    How about mobile RTX platform?
After upgrading to newest beta OC scanner is gaving me an error everytime I start it - error code 22h.

Broken/no support for mobile platform in the newest drivers or issue with Afterburner?
