Surgical Scalpels today revealed how they are harnessing the power of real-time ray tracing for its near-future multiplayer shooter Boundary with its Ray Tracing Benchmark. There is currently no ETA o... Boundary: Raytracing Benchmark
looks great, but real world physics went out the window. unless fixed to a larger structure with position holding capabilities, anything you shoot will force you in the opposite direction, drifting off into space. and no, an EVA suit doesnt count, its manually operated and limited on fuel.
Effects are really good. Physics and amount of clutter too. But 720p to 1080p not so much. Now, let's have some fun and calculate cost of one lost soldier in space.
Looks amazing... I wish they would remake or add RT to Dead Space, Resident Evil, Evil Within Us, Aliens Isolation and other slow horror games. The AL and RT, and real 3D surround sound would make the games feel more atmospheric. I would buy a RT GPU just for that.
Finally a good example of why RT is valuable. All the stupid examples of shiny puddles and semi-reflective surfaces was such an unproductive way to demonstrate it, because you could easily accomplish the same effects without RT. What you can't so easily accomplish without RT is secondary lighting effects.
All the ray tracing I've seen in actual game-play is less impressive than what I've seen in the videos.
I love the physics that ignore how physics work... pass never like CoD and or well shooters for that matter it being in space does not change that
Wow. Most impressive. The airlock part of this is very good. Can't wait for all games to look like this.
I am impressed with expert level of our dear gurus almost each day! So dear gurus, how do you know which effects in that video were made with RT?
