When these online retailers finally open the flood gates on the 17th, no doubt they'll get thousands of orders.
I'm thinking it'll take at least a few days for all those shipments to get packed up and sent.
Like i've mentioned, hoping for pre-order to start 12am on the 17th as some sites are stating official release is 2pm on the 17th.

I love the way all these youtubers cover every single angle, but give you no real information. They constantly blow there own trumpet that they have people working for AMD/ Nvidia/ Intel providing them with information of what is coming. I honestly don't know why I keep watching them, they do my head in.

  8. These "active" backplates are total rubbish, as every backplate.

Please do check Aquacomputer Kryographics RTX 2080Ti active backplate, I'm running on my RTX 2080Ti and definitely backside of RTX 2080Ti is much cooler than with EKWB backplate, with EKWB backplate backside RTX 2080Ti its quite warm to touch, I would say its close to be burnt by it

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

Nvidia stated 6am PDT. That is when they go on sale officially. So 9am eastern time you'll be able to purchase on websites. That is the official statement.

I am going to my local best buy. Hopefully stock isn't depleted when their doors open. That would suck.

    You can skip to 9:21:

    9:54 Borderlands 3 - 4K, DX12, GPU maxed at 100%, 7.4GB Video Memory used, 56% faster than 2080S
10:24 Horizon Zero Dawn - 4K, GPU maxed at 99%, 9.9G Video Memory used, 76FPS average
    10:54 Assasins Creed Odyssey - 4K, GPU at 97%, 7GB Video mem, 67fps average, 48% faster than 2080S
    Forza Horizon 4 - 4K, 143fps, GPU at 97%, 48% faster than 2080S
    11:23 Shadow of the Tomb Raider - 4K, DLSS ON GPU @ 99% with 99fps, DLSS OFF GPU @ 99% with 113fps, 7GB vram

    Control - 4K, DLSS ON GPU @ 99% with 101fps, DLLS OFF GPU @ 99% with 59fps, 7.5GB video memory used
    Death Stranding - 4K, DLSS ON GPU @ 99% with 170fps, DLSS OFF GPU @ 99% with 123fps, 5.1GB vram -------------------------------------------
Horizon Zero Dawn does shows that 10GB isn't enough for a flagship card. I'm sure that the 1080s/1080ti will provide more vram."

Yeah, I've seen those benchmarks all over the internet. They've been posted in different threads and the main guru3d page days ago https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/first-alleged-benchmark-results-geforce-rtx-3080-surface.html

Overall, i dunno... about as expected.
We're slowly getting a sense about where this thing's at, outside of Nvidia's cherry picked stuff.

But, when it comes to hard numbers and specifics, we'll have to wait for many different tests from many different sources.

    No they aren't.

    GDDR6x isn't available in 2GB modules yet.

Mate, i don't know weather to take you seriously or not. You also told us there was no such thing as GDDR6x :p

There isn't, JEDEC hasn't ratified this micron GDDR technology yet.

Micron however has specified that 16Gib modules are not in production at the present time.
So while Micron uses the name GDDR6x, there is no technology known as GDDR6x

I too belive a 48GB model will be orientated towards professional applications, and not a GTX / RTX gaming card. But damn, 48GB is still a lot.
