Man, we are in for a treat. Until now, only good actors, good director and awesome soundtrack compositor. It's like seeing a master chef laying on a table the best ingredients, best knives and you know for a fact that the dinner will be a symphony of taste and senses.
I have high hopes for this. Makes me want to watch the 84 movie 190m cut again, which i cant find and the the scifi mini series stuff again, which again cant find sort of buying the dvds i prefer the old 1984 cast mostly cause I didnt know who any of them are, and sort of dean stockwell and patrick steward and sting. but in this I know quite few of the actors and some well known.
I only caught a glimpse of the end of the trailer earlier today but my first thought was that it has to be from the director of the last Blade Runner. And sure enough it was Looks all right but I'm not really into space fantasy stuff. Using Pink Floyd in the trailer has to be a nod to Jodorowsky.
I know im one of the few who didnt like blade runner 2049 because it actually lacked a good script and was all graphics , but i kinda feel this is gonna be the same. its the same director, and when watching that trailer it kinda felt so, even without looking it up.
Not liking the colouring on this. The original movie was this: And by the looks of it, this new adaptation appears be more like this: But hey, it's a small (but perhaps notable) point, but a film based in a Desert environment should be more like a Desert. Caladan looks very nice, and I cannot wait to see what Geidi Prime looks like.
Still want to see it. I liked how the put the "fear is the mindkiller" lines in the trailer, the same as in every Dune movie iirc. Not sure I'll hit the cinemas for this though, might wait for streaming release. But I have to admit, I still liked every Dune stuff I saw. My first favourite PC game of all time was Dune 2

Trailer #2 has dropped, and the first 10 minutes of the film were shown at iMax theaters, the early reports are pretty positive. It appears that there will be 2 films for sure, as the opening shot/title says "Dune Part 1" I watched the trailer and it is fantastic, the Scale looks immense, super dark.. Can't f...ING wait.
I have low expectations for this seeing how much I liked the original movie and the scifi channel mini series that where made, but it a remake and they always suck. The Spice must flow... I out the poop shoot of the worm.
1984 Dune was great. This one... we'll see. But comedic fillers like this give me bad vibes: - Put on some muscle? - I did? - No and - Smile Gurney - I _am_ smiling Not only they found enough time to include them in the final version, but apparently they think they're so good they should be included in a trailer.
Like said I have low expectations, but i hope it actual good, hopefull it is altest as long as originals/director cut and not shorter, then again i not sure how i feel about Batista being in the movie, he just another WWE wrestler I think cant act like few other high profile one i wont mention. None can replace Patrick Stewart's gurney though
That reminds me of new Mortal Kombat movie, first 10 minutes were fine too until you seen the rest of the movie
There to many movies to list where there best part of movies was it trailers, and rest was steaming pile of /poop New MK movie is no exception, though I would argue it better then original movies, but that is subjective Only thing good about the Original movie was "Highlander" in disgues and the music, 2nd one was just horrid imo
I'm just glad movies are back on the table it was getting quite sketchy for a while there movie wise. Waiting on Top Gun, say what you want about Cruz he's a great actor and movie maker. Love sci-fi's too.
Both of those are consistent with the characters in the book, especially Duncan - he is the classic trickster relative.
Isn't that the point of this new movie? to be more in-line with the original book.. instead of the film which to my understanding is not like the original book.
