Today”s release patch for Marvel's Avengers lists a fix for the Alt-tabbing crashes and I can confirm it works with the 452.06 and 460.15 drivers so it seems this hot fix is no longer required for the 10 series cards (I have a 1080 Ti). Shame that this patch now causes the game to get stuck on the campaign loading screen so I can no longer play it at all...

These remained on black screen when installing. Didn't do a clean install or DDU as normally not needed. After forced power off and restarting Windows has started normally and drivers are installed. Win10, 2004, x64.
May do a reinstall of the driver to ensure properly installed though...

Safe-mode reboot, DDU, reboot and installed with Clean option ticked, all went through fine without any issues.

460 branch jump and Ampere support? :D

Well perhaps one more driver before these GPU's are out or perhaps a driver release earlier with support for these depending on retail availability and usual early sales and receiving shipped products depending on how controlled this launch will be.
Don't even know when the NDA's going to be up and reviews will start going online but review availability for the GPU's should be happening or start next week I presume to get some time and prepare with testing and all that.

What do I know, if I had the money a 3080 would be a fun upgrade though ha ha.

EDIT: Branch jump being a higher amount of code changes and merging in more pending fixes and what not as a result though I suppose this sort of issue could also have worked for a hotfix style driver in-between the standard release cycle and the various driver branches that are out now for public usage.
(From my way of thinking on how this works at least, PDF for the 460.xx drivers should be a nice lengthy one.)

Ah that's right I remember hearing about WDDM 2.9 in particular so probably for that which was from I think the WSL developments and then drivers supporting at least part of this. :)
(NVIDIA's at least, don't think AMD has updated their WSL supportive driver in a while now.)

EDIT: Although 21H1 and the whole DirectX 12.2 code and related should be at WDDM 2.8 first and then 2.9 will follow in the next major update for Windows 10 so potentially 2022 or what the roadmap looks like nowadays.

Well that's for later, 455 then as the next major branch for the NVIDIA drivers.

...and back to 451.85. This one and several other newer drivers (almost all of them after 441.xx) give me TDR: Driver crashed and recovered errors, and after playing a game, then right clicking desktop to go to Nvidia Control Panel, I get a long 'hourglass/working cursor' delay, then the right click menu appears with no Nvidia Control Panel in it. I have to reboot to get it working again. Don't have a clue why.
